We visited Dom Zeferino for Sunday lunch on our way to the airport. It's easy enough to find, and is just a few minutes walk away from Matosinhos Sul metro on the blue (A) line. We had fish soup as a starter, followed by cod and turbot mains. My wife's cod was delicious, and the turbot wasn't bad but unfortunately there was a little too much garlic in the potatoes/vegetables and it actually overpowered the flavour of the turbot. The (English speaking) waiter did a great job in selecting a local dry white wine and the final bill (cash only), including two cake desserts and coffee, was a very reasonable 55 euros.

wonderfull food with excelente servvice. prices are more then faire, best prices in wines for a Matosinhos restaurant. once you are in Matosinhos you should go for fish and portuguese white wine. better go early cause it´s allways full or if it´s a nice day ask for a bottle of wine and some starters and wait outside for a table enjoying the spirit around.

It's a while since I've experienced the performance of food and drink being served at the table and a dessert trolley, but the shellfish especially and fish are extraordinary. Huge langoustine which were perfectly cooked, amazing lobster and turbut. The salad with the lobster was so fresh veg in rice overcooked and watery , stick to salad or veg. Good sommelier advising on wine and mixing lovely drinks. Taxi ordered for us quickly and efficiently. This isn't cheap but it's very nice.

Was recommended by a local to visit Mastosinhos for fresh fish at great prices. Indeed, it is correct! Googled and came about Tito 2 for great fish. We had the sardines, and a small sea bream that came complete with potatoes and vegetables. Finished off with a lemon tart, and coffee. And so.. we entered into food coma! The fish is fresh! The sardines are a must try! Satisfying lunch

Restaurante com salas individuais, uma delas equipada com projector, todas com ar/condicionado, aquário de mariscos, peixe fresco todos os dias da lota de Matosinhos,
We were taken to this local, traditional gem by friends of ours that are from Matsosinhos which made this place that much more special. On its own is still an incredible fine. From the moment you arrive at this old world restaurant sitting just alongside the castle, you are reminded of a living tradition....families queued up outside waiting for others to show, folks dressed slightly better than your standard night out clothes, an air of formality despite it being an incredibly informal and local place.
Ok on to the food. As soon as you enter the front door, you are faced with a huge table and tanks did playing their daily offering of seafood. This impressive showing covers the full range of fish, crab, lobster, shellfish, etc, etc, etc. Yes, I poked my finger into a sea bass and yes it was incredibly fresh (daily catch).
We were greeted at the table with a series of hor d'oeuvres. All lovely. If you do not want to pay for it, ask them to return it. After looking at the extensive wine list we chose a lovely Douro Pinot (20€ but well worth it). Followed by a traditional fried catfish with a rich sauce made from fish roe. Our second course was a roast beef dish with potatoes and rice.
Lovely, attentive service. Well spaced and dressed tables. A perfect score!
Keep up the good work, I will be back.

The Restaurant "O Valentim" is located in the heart of the fishing activity of Matosinhos and, as it could not fail to be, it’s specialty is serving the freshest grilled fish. With the fishing port located across the street, every day the restaurant receives several species of fresh fish that our professionals brilliantly prepare, highlighting among the most wanted species: seabass, brill, gilthead, sardine and squid. To begin the meals, we have great starters, among them, the fish soup, the traditional Portuguese soup “Caldo Verde”, the clams, the shrimps and the petinga. To finish the meals in beauty, we offer a wide range of desserts made by us, among them, crème brûlée, pudding, passion fruit pie and brigadeiro. Concerning wines, we count with a quality selection where the best wines of our country are present.
SERVICE Friendly and quick. FOOD Excellent. The best fish we had in Porto! VALUE FOR MONEY The pay scale is reasonable for the quality you get. AMBIENCE As in most places in Porto, there is a lot of renovation going on. We didn't mind as...MoreThank you for your comment, for us the feedback from our customers is important and taken into consideration. We hope you come back again. Best regards, Restaurant O Valentim

Family restaurant, consisting of 2 rooms, staff who speak English, French and Spanish! We always try to be at your disposal and to meet your taste!
Almost clicking 14pm, unaware of good places to eat, go to check the bible and had an amazing meal here, vegetables soup to warming up and then grilled sea bass and 'punched potatoes' alongside. To finish with a 'tarte gelada de frutos vermelhos' kind of a berries ice-cream cheesecake. Bill enclosed.

Authentic Italian restaurant, owned by chef Sergio Crivelli, winner of the Gluten free Pizza World Championships in 2012. In 2013 he was awarded the "OSPITALITÁ ITALIANA" (comparable to one Star in the Michelin Guide). We are renowned for: Homemade pasta, real Italian thin-crust Pizza, baked in a wood fired oven, risotti, delicate specialties as a main course such as Scaloppine, Saltimbocca, Involtini and finally for homemade typical Italian desserts like Tiramisu, Panna Cotta and Crostata. To finalise a great meal, we have the world famous Napolitan Caffé Izzo, accompanied by a limoncello, made by chef Sergio Crivelli. We are the only restaurant in Portugal specialised in Gluten free Pasta, Pizza and Lasagne. During the summer months you can eat outside.
I wanted to treat my husband to a pizza while we were in Porto to celebrate his birthday. A simple internet search came up with this wonderful little restaurant which makes traditional high quality Italian food and which has an extensive gluten free menu option. We were both absolutely delighted and will return the next time we come to this amazing city
