Marsaxlokk (Maltese pronunciation: [marsaʃˈlɔk]) is a traditional fishing village in the South Eastern Region of Malta, with a population of 3,534 as of March 2014. The village’s name comes from marsa, which means "port" and xlokk, which is the local name for south east. The word is related to the name for the dry sirocco wind that blows from the Sahara, comparable to the equivalent Catalan word, "xaloc". The village is known for the Marsaxlokk Market, a large market which takes place around the whole village on Sundays and tourist market all days during the week. The inhabitants of the village are called the Xlukkajri and are historically fishermen.

The restaurant is across from the street market / waterfront in this fishing village. The food is local but different from the usual tourist fare.
We didn't choose this restaurant, it chose us - long story! Suffice to say, it was an excellent choice. The complimentary antipasti served by the friendly professional gentleman called Ika was a good start to the evening. The starters of grilled calamari and mushrooms, delicious and fettuccine Siciliani and the duck breast were nicely served and very tasty. This is a super little restaurant, great service and good food plus reasonable prices - we'll be back!

Without question this is THE BEST fish restaurant in Malta. Hands down. Period. I have been eating regularly at this restaurant for over 10 years now and the quality of food and cooking is consistently of the highest level. It really doesn’t get any better than this for fish. And there’s a great and varied wine list too.
As a family run restaurant they go above and beyond to ensure your dining experience is truly memorable. I have eaten at Michelin star restaurants than don’t even come close to this. Don’t waste your time. If you want to eat fish come here!

We have been in La Nosta Padrona couple of time and in general we like this place. Obviously, as everywhere in Malta the bill is ridiculously high, but that’s Malta. What I am really angry is that today they gave is an old fresh fish- 50 eur. What I eat today was not fresh!!! I am left with such a feeling of being cheated and dishonesty. On other hand, this is topical Maltese, they always want to chat you, and think you will not recognize. Weak up Maltese people!!!

In operation for more than 25 years. Specialises in fish dishes using freshly caught Mediterranean fish. Situated opposite the old National Swimming Pool in Marsascala, Malta.
Three of us visited Zonqor Point Restaurant for lunch today. We were welcomed with a friendly smile and greeting and shown to our table. The order for drinks and the menu were brought very quickly while we deliberated over a wide choice of menu, catering for all tastes and diets. We ordered the three fresh fish special of the day and we were not disappointed. It came with roasted vegetables, chips and fresh salad and was delicious. This was fine dining served with care and we will be returning when we next visit Malta. The best meal to date and very reasonably priced. Thank you.

Ta' Victor restaurant is situated in the quaint fishing village of Marsaxlokk in the South of Malta. Chef/Patron Victor has a passion for traditional Maltese food and offers a menu that includes all the usual suspects when it comes to typical local cuisine. This ranges from rabbit to lamb, snails to octopus, lasagne to local fish and much more. It is all served in welcoming Maltese hospitality in a restaurant that is ideal for all the family. The location on the main Marsaxlokk square in front of the Parish church and right across the road from the fishing harbour is also a big plus which just adds to the local feel of the place.
Held a school mates' reunion here and we enjoyed ourselves very much. The food was all freshly prepared, plentiful and good. Victor is friendly and he comes up with a new menu, everyday. It feels just like going to Granny's house for a family meal back when we were young - always anticipating about what Nanna is going to cook for us... Always wise to phone up beforehand if you are a big group as they only have enough space for big groups outside when the weather is fair. I went during the summer and we sat outside. The price for the whole meal is very fair as well. Thanks Victor.

I went here to sample the fish soup. It was €6.95 and when served there were chunks of white fish and white rice floating in a bland tasting broth! Not the rich, varied fish stew I was expecting.
So today when I visited Marsaxlokk again, I chose another cafe. Just about average.

A family run restaurant for the past 45 years proudly being the same owners for the last 36. One may choose to dine indoors or outdoors. Our menu varies from fish dishes to shellfish, octopus and calamari dishes, from meat dishes such as fillet and ribeye to duck, lamb, chicken, pork and rabbit dishes, from pasta dishes to pizzas. Looking forward for your custom. Buon appetite!

The food is local and tasty, especially fishes and wine. It is worth its price and we were lucky to have really nice waiter who was honest with us and helped to chose the best of the dishes. We are going to visit this place at the end of the week and I hope we will meet our server-Aleksander again.

We went there because of the comments here, and the food didn't disappoint us. It is a small place but very easy to be found, and there are some table outside and we could see the coastal area. The seafood was fresh and tasty, and the service was quick. Would definitely recommend for all the visitors to Marsaxlokk.

T'Anna Mari Restaurant is situated in Marsaxlokk, in the South of Malta. Here you can enjoy the best Mediterranean dishes created by Salvatore.
We went there quite a while ago for Saturday lunch. I chose the calamari and it was absolutely delicious. The portion was also generous, so much that I only ate half.
When the waiter came to clear our plates, I asked him to take the rest for take away. He was foreign and most probably misunderstood me, throwing it away instead. When he came back and brought the bill, I asked for it and he apologized. I wasn't happy but decided to let it go since it was a small mistake.
When we went to pay, the chef was there and asked if we liked the food. My partner mentioned the misunderstanding and the Chef asked us to wait a few minutes while he cooked us a small portion for take away. We waited and he cooked almost an entire portion, even included the sides! Now that is what I call quality customer service! Needless to say, I left the restaurant way happier than I was a few minutes prior!
