Admittedly we DID arrive latish, around 2.30 for lunch, but they DID say there was no problem with ordering. The first courses were decent, nothing wow, but to the standard I would expect from a half-decent Sicilian restaurant. Main courses were another story: my fried calamari were definitely nothing to write home about and my friends' (all 3 of them) fish were definitely very dry!!! I am not a chef but I can comfortably find my way around a kitchen and I would say the mains were prepared at the same time as the first course and then heated up: allowing the chef to get over with it earlier than it would have taken.
The bill would have been ok for a very good meal . . but it wasn't . . . so it was overpriced for what we got.
The position of the restaurant is fantastic: right on the water's edge . . . but that does not make up for its shortcomings: at least not in my books !!!!

Whilst on holiday in the area my wife and I used to go for a long walk in the morning and then head to Caffe delle Rose in order to have breakfast. We loved it. We had the granita (I highly reccomend the Pistachio as well as the Almond ones). The brioche used to be warm and soft as were the cornetti. Coffee was also very good. Prices are a bit on the higher side however the quality is exceptional.

We ate outside over looking the sea, a few of us fancied Steak as a change to Pizza, pasta etc. Great value and really good flavour but you need to order more rare than you want, ie medium rare, comes as medium etc. My daughter and I were the only ones drinking Red Wine and we managed a 1Ltr caraff for only Euro 6. As with most places, a 20% service charge is added on but still good value. 7 of us Euro 120 with plenty to drink.

We were charged €84 for a seabass.... Salad and chips were separate. It wasn't marked on the menu. Tourist con, and they conveniently didn't speak English when I complained. Disappointing as every other restaurant in MDR treated us brilliantly.
That's all you need to know about this place. Might be nice otherwise but that was my experience.

To be good is our vocation, because... ... We put nature at first place To produce our ice cream we only use freshly drawn milk, white cane sugar and carob seed flour (locust bean gum). Furthermore, we never use food preservatives, colorings or additives. ... We choose the best raw materials Thanks to the best raw materials in the world as wild strawberries from Ribera ("Fragoline di Ribera"), pistachio from Mount Etna ("Pistacchio dell'Etna"), PGI hazelnuts, Ecuador chocolate and lemons from Syracuse ("Limone Femminello di Siracusa") we obtain an excellent product. Nothing better possible. ... We respect our cows We have made agreements with our local farmers: we buy their milk at fair prices but they have to guarantee us that cows, living almost completely in the wild, are not over-exploited and must be involved in the best sanitary standards. ... We promote Sicily We work for over 95% using "zero-mile Sicilian food" to ensure a high level of quality. ... We love our land It gives us sensational fruits all days and we want to thank it by using biodegradables and compostables ice cream cups, teaspoons and sticks: this is our contribution to mantain our world cleaner and less polluted. ... We are attuned to the food needs Ice cream means pleasure and, as such, it must be shared by all of us. For that, in each flavor, you will find icons that help you to understand if there are animal derivatives, sugar or are gluten free. ... We are involved in social We decided to contribute to the development of H Orti Project by "Alberto Portogallo's Social co-operating society". The purpose is to allow unprivileged people to work in the cultivation process of natural and excellent fruit. ... We support our farmers Most of our products are the result of biological agriculture, "slow food", fair tade or PGI recognised. It needs a more expensive price that we are really glad to pay, because we want to be sure that the products we are buying are made by decent standars of work.
We were lucky to have been guided to this place by the owner of our B&B in Marina di Ragusa for ice-creams and coffee. Visiting a few times,I often took nocciola and pistachio, they were very tasty, while my wife tried other good ice-creams. Their espresso was excellent too !

We went there several times during our stay in Marina Di Ragusa and we loved the delicious ice creams. The range of flavours to many to mention but they did change over the week with new flavours added. Nothing nicer than to sit out enjoying some delicious ice cream on a warm summer evening just watching the world go by.

I could happily eat every day at Squitty. The queues of people are justified to eat their arancini, pizza, schiaciatta, etc... I have tried all the rosticerias in Pozzallo and tasted all the arancini. Squitty has the best arancini. They have a selection of Salmon, Melanzana, Curry or Traditional. All delicious! The ladies who run the place are so friendly. It's worth the wait for Squitty.

The farm is a farm operating in the sector since 1989. The art of cheese making, passed down through generations guarantees uniqueness and authenticity of the products that can be bought and tasted.
If you are a tourist don't go there, in our opinion this may well be food off the land, but it was disgusting, it is peasants food poorly cooked and presented.l knew we had made a mistake upon arrival when l saw a woman in the kitchen smoking! As another review points out there are plenty of very good restaurants in Maina Di Ragusa to visit. Sorry guys you really need to get your act sorted.
