La Palma is a pristine paradise, set against a backdrop of volcanic landscape. Perhaps the best way to experience La Palma’s rugged beauty is a hike through the Caldera de Taburiente National Park or the narrow gorges of Los Tilos. The cool waters of natural swimming hole Charco Azul beckon on a steamy day. The dark sands of Playa Nueva are great for sunbathing and cat naps.

We were on a one-day cruise visit and with mobility, age and vertigo issues we knew we wouldn't be able to do some of the things others enjoy on the island. But we weren't at all disappointed with our visit to this restaurant. We hailed a taxi in town and were whizzed up there in no time for €7. The bar was open (with Spanish cider on draught!) and we were soon full of complimentary banana crisps etc, waiting for the kitchen to start serving at 1pm. There's a lovely kiddy's play area, Gardens, vines, some cats ... The restaurant has views (if you get there early for a good seat), plus there are lovely little 'boxes' outside. Perhaps converted from kennels (?), each one has a table and benches for a private 'indoor-outdoor' meal. The views are tremendous, especially if you're on a cruise as you're looking way down at your ship in the harbour. Food is typically Canarian, with grilled meats served on your own personal table barbecue. We didn't want to leave! The taxi the owners called took us right back to the gangplank for €10 (the road system doesn't make that easy).

Interpreting fresh and regional products serving in different cuisines of the world.
Ate here twice. Had the mixed tapas starter. Waiter talked us through every dish. Very keen and knowledgable. Every dish was of very high quality. Then had an excellent steak. Second time had very good rabbit as the main coarse. Slightly more expensive than most of the resaurants around but worth every euro.

A lot of places on the Canary’s try to fancy up the local cuisine and fail miserably. This place surely is not one of those. Everything is grounded in local traditional food but it all has a little twist added to it. Not too much....MoreThank you very much. Greetings from Fuencaliente.

We ate here twice during our week in Tazacorte but you do need to book especially if you want to eat outside. The menu is imaginative and food beautifully presented. Staff were very friendly and spoke both English and German. A small dish of olives came with the drinks and mini heart shaped coffee ice creams came with the bill which was a lovely touch. On the first visit I had corn soup which was really tasty followed by hake with a lightly spiced sauce with almonds and a side salad and then I succumbed to the chocolate truffles and brandy cherries. On the second visit I had the pumpkin and papaya soup which my husband had really enjoyed on the first visit and then the incredibly tender beef stroganoff with green beans and fresh tagliatelle. Along with wine on both occasions the bill came to just over 60 Euros.

This is a touch of class on an island of unspoiled spectacular beauty. The food did this little lush volcanic Canarian isle justice. The black lava stone walls and delicate lighting downstairs so reflective of La Palma. Comfortable even when empty (we were very early but it soon filled up - quite a lot of tables were booked).
And at an unbelievable price.
We managed a 1kg rib (carved at the table and served on a heating skillet) for Sunday lunch, 2 starters a bottle of local wine and shared dessert (along with attentive proud and friendly service) for 60 euros.
We went again for our last night's meal before flying home.
Perfection. Treat yourself, you deserve it.

Our restaurant is closed from june 23th to july 25th.
Great location with sea view but apart from the busy center. Very attentive owner and staff. 5 tapas dishes is the max you should order for two, is really enough. Cantarelle and garlic; avocado with tuna carpaccio and roasted sesame!!
People know each other in here, meaning plenty of regular customers.
Nice!

My visit to this restaurant was quite memorable, perhaps not so much for the food but for the ambience and surroundings.
We arrived at a small street just near the seafront at about 12.40pm on a Tuesday afternoon. The few steps into the building take you into a small room about the size of an average house’s front room. The kitchen is attached to it and you can view the solitary chef preparing the meals. There are about six tables and room to sit approx. 12 people but no more. Carmen, the patron, arrived shortly after we got there, was charming and very polite. We were told that there was no menu, but instead she sat on a chair and told us what there was on offer. That was in itself charming and unusual but it would have been a good idea to tell us what we would be expected to pay (more or less) for each course, or perhaps have a set-price menu.
My first course came; a salad with chunky tomatoes, lots of slivers of parmesan cheese and olives. The ingredients were good but the olives were the leathery type which you get in tins, so that was a bit disappointing. I then had the entrecote which was beautifully cooked, tender and tasty. My desert was chocolate mousse which was also delicious although I would have preferred if it had been a little colder.
All in all, I enjoyed my meal. I found Carmen very charming but I was slightly jealous as she surreptitiously stroked my husband’s neck, back and arms every time she walked past our table, but never once touching me. I shall have to return again and sit in a more advantageous position where I can profit from this extra massaging experience while I feed my mouth with delights.

We couldn’t swallow the pizza. I tried one slice and had to make an effort to chew and swallow that pizza. I have made better pizzas in my kitchen.
House wine one of the worst red wines I have tried in my life. I mean... it’s house wine after all but... is it necessary to be bad?
Extremely low quality restaurant. Nothing to celebrate. I see other people’s reviews and feel very very confused. Are we talking about the same restaurant? Because my pizza was absolutely awful, pathetic wine and tired staff.
Won’t come back.

The restaurant is clearly aimed at locals interested in creative local cuisine. The food was great and the service very good if erratic (we were abandoned for 45 minutes after finishing the main course)
