A lovely spot to spend the afternoon. Excellent food and charming service. The salads are very good and come with hot flatbread. Excellent fish & chips. Home made pasta is good and the lasagna is cheesy goodness.
The tables on the beach are a perfect place to spend an hour or the afternoon. Oh, pizza goes on the menu after 6pm!

We were practically the only ones there and still, the service was bad. The food was overpriced and unremarkable. For two months, I lived just a block from this restaurant and never bothered to go back. Too bad as I understand it was once very good.

My first review was written a number of years ago. Since then, I have started spending two months a year in La Manzanilla, and this year I'm going for three months. I love this beach and town and Palapa Joe's is the center of nightlife for ex pats of the baby boomer generation, although many bring along visiting kids and grandkids who seem to have a good time as well. A number of professional musicians from Canada winter here and they keep the joint jumping. Wonderful music of our generation and everyone gets up to dance--singles as well as couples. I have an 81 year old friend who drags me out to dance by the hair if I don't show up voluntarily! This is a place for people who stay young until they die. I've eaten there 3 or 4 times and the meals were good. Let this review take precedence over the last, and the loud music that lasts all night is actually from another bar. If you go to Palapa Joe's on a music night, say hi to the keyboard player.. that's the owner and boss!

Creatively prepared by the chef/owner, these dishes still appear in my dreams.! This local chef most likely does not use the internet! internusebeside the
I have a wonderful mole chicken dinner. The food was great and I highly recommend going to this restaurant. It's off the beaten path, but worth the visit. The owners were very helpful and lovely people. The quality is excellent.

This is a lovely spot to have breakfast each morning. By the town plaza, it attracts a wide range of people. Terrific huevos rancheros; fresh fruit smoothies and pancakes. Good coffee too.
Sit here and watch the world go by. Everyone else seems to. It is the place to go to see who else shows up, and on market day, the place to go to see who wanders by. We only went there for breakfast, but it is open for lunch as well. It is closed at night and a popular taco stand opens up on the strip of pavement next to it. The muffins are great. A large cup of coffee is pint-sized (as in half of a quart, not as in small.) Close to the beach. We liked it.

La Manzanilla inhabitants often walk two miles up the beach to this lovely hotel restaurant/bar overlooking the sand at Boca de Iguana, north of La Manz. You can also use the dirt road if the laguna has not been opened, or the highway and a dirt access road. Good food, good drinks. Clean, cheerful roofed environment next to the pool .

We always choose this beach restaurant when we go to La Manzanilla. Since the hurricane the owners have rebuilt the palapas and refreshed the washrooms and buildings. Its very clean. The food is consistently good, fresh and well presented. Staff are very nice and speak some English.

Nothing better than having great Mexican seafood right on the beach with your feet in the sand.
Spent a week at the beach in La Manzanilla and went to Pedro's beach palapa almost every other day. Wonderful people - Pedro went out of his way to find us a table on a crowded Sunday afternoon. We tried the shrimp cocktail, guacamole, fish tacos, Chile relleno, and his famous Rollo Del Mar (fish roll) with almond sauce. Everything was delicious. The margaritas are large and to die for.
Pedro's is right on the beach close to the crocodile enclosure.

Most of the time I don’t write reviews, but I want to ansewr Ron747:
Magnolia’s does not sell any dishes that you mentioned. Please confirm that you reviewed the correct restaurant.
I’m a local resident and I eat frequently at Magnol’s, and the consences of our the local community is that it is one of the best restaurants in the area.
Btw,I’m not related to the owners.
