We visited karczma with my husband in march 2013 on our way back form a ski trip in Korbielów.
The karczma is very old, probably from XVIII and is a monument. Interiors and the atmosphere was great. Its kind of in the middle of nowhere but if you like hiking/skiing/biking or any type of outdoors activities this region will be for sure fun to visit!
Food was pretty good, we tried traditional silesian cuisine. Service was very nice as well.
I wanted share this place for one reason. My husband ordered drink "warzonka" ( I was a driver), waitress told us is a grain spirit with caramelized sugar and butter and its very tasty. The recipe sounded suspicious to me, but my husband ordered it anyway. I have to admit I was surprised how amazing it tasted! It was served warm, it came in this funky stone-like pot with the candle underneath, so the drink stayed warm all the time. The waitress said it was traditional drink for the region. I have to admit it was one of the best things I have ever tasted.
So if you will be planning a trip there or driving by, check it out!

We got the recommendation from the service at Hotel Karolek and eat two dinners here. I definetly recommend the Bigos - perfect. The prices are very low, so eating and drinking for two persons came out with a more than reasonable bill.

We have visited this microbrewery for a lunch. It was a quite place, pretty equipped. The personal was young and its hospitality on a high level. The food was delicious, fresh, adequate size to fill our stomachs. Reasonable pricing.
Would come back in case of coming to Zywiec again.

Food is good but the place has become too pricey vs. what you get. A few examples::
- Tortillas are way too small and french fries which go together with dishes are served at minimal quantities
- 100ml wine glass is also below quantity standards
- very expensive lemonade (let's remember it's just water with some stuff added)

My family and I were driving from Slovakia to Poland north. We stopped to have a coffee but the interior and smiling chef made us want try some food. After i had my kebab and the kids tried, we took more. i do love kebabs, and i am trying them everywhere. home made wrap, big portion of meet, real fresh vegetables and so good sauces!!
I wish I could have that quality kebab anywhere on the street!!!
when you drive through directing north, you slow down before the rails, look right for a cozy wooden hut!!!

We stayed at the Hotel Zywiecki for a few nights and I was able to eat in the restaurant several times. The morning breakfasts were very nice and although I am not used to European breakfasts of bread and meats - I still thought the selection of options was very good. We had WONDERFUL meals for dinner. I had no reason to try other restaurants in the area because their selection was good and the food was wonderful.

Our food was ok (freshly made), but in my opinion a little bit too expensive. The price for 4 main courses without soup was about 100zl.
You cannot pay by card.
They have a car park for customers and a place for children to play (trampoline).

Nice food and atmosphere. Friendly staff. Being in a little village can compete with any good quality pizza shops. Tasty, delicious and simple. Recommended.
