This is the only hotel in the village of Helden so is not difficult to find. On your approach it appears to be a hotel with character and is definitely not a sleek modern chain hotel. It has its own parking area and a brasserie. The interior is very 'old Dutch' with old heavy furniture and the rooms although clean are a bit basic and tired, however they did have tea/coffee making facilities (rare in Europe) and plentiful clean towels.
We had dinner in the brasserie and the food was enjoyed by all in our party of four as was the friendly and courteous service. They have an extensive wine list with some very expensive wines however we were able to find a €20 bottle of red which we thoroughly enjoyed (so had a second!) and which was served with some unusual wine glasses, which apparently aid the smelling before drinking process! We had a really pleasant evening and then retired to bed......... We were already aware that our room faced the main road and there was traffic noise, however to be fair this really wasn't a problem by the time we retired. However throughout the night we were disturbed at least three times, by large groups of noisy people passing by the hotel in the early hours (we think there was a nightclub not far away and assumed the noise was from people leaving that). The hotel is old and quaint, the staff were friendly and the brasserie food was excellent as was the Continental breakfast in the morning however I really couldn't recommend staying on a Saturday night unless you can get a room that doesn't face onto the main road!!!

Family restaurant that serves a great variaty of meal for lunch and diner. Dutch, French and mediterean dishes. Very old building, former butchery and farmhouse. Big Terrace, heated when necessary. Playground for children
Enjoyed a nice outside dinner here with family and friends.
The restaurant boasts a large covered Terrace with heaters. Sun until late afternoon. and a small playground for little children.
The three course menu was ok and came with a nice amuse. Overall the food was ok but not very memorable, except for the (cold) fried bitterballen.
Service was fast and professional.

Had dinner here last Saturday with kids and grandparents. The view over the Maas river from the Terrace is stunning. The sun will disappear after about five thirty though. after which the wind can be chilly.
The menu offers 3-4-5 course menus starting at eur 32,50. As well as an extensive a la carte range of food. Quality was good though nothing spectacular. There are no special children dishes on the menu, so we had a normal menu served for them split over two plates.
The wine menu is nice and priced moderately.
Service is best described as friendly, slow and sloppy. The two waitresses managing the Terrace where clearly overwhelmed. The white wine for the starter came too late, staff did not remember who ordered what, and small requests (extra sauce, drinks,... ) all came with long Delivery times.
All in all, best for a sunlit lunch or drink with gorgeous view. Or a casual dinner.

This is one of those "fill your plate with a selection chosen from 30 raw ingredients and hand it to the guy behind the hotplate" type restaurants. Usually I avoid them but this one was good. The selection of ingredients ranged from many types of seafood, over poultry to beef and even kangaroo (yummy). Not only is the ingredient selection very good, but the guy behind the hotplate knows what he is doing.
I had two plates and two glasses of wine and the bill was not outrageous.
But as is the problem with all all-you-can-eat restaurants, the price-to-benefit ratio is still high for people who haven't starved themselves all day to maximize the bite for the buck.

The station building in Reuver was transformed into a lovely small restaurant. By doing so, the building was actually saved for next generations. The railway did not need it anymore in these days of automatic systems and electronic tickets.
The restaurant is simple, but cosy and good. The menu is limited, which is pleasant, as you don't have to work yourself through hundreds of choices, as often is the case in Limburg. They do offer a good fixed three courses menu at very reasonable prices.
Service is good and pleasant.
You can go there by train from Roermond, Venlo or Nijmegen. If you come by car, the location is easy to find and you can park near the building.

This restaurant is situated in the small town of Kessel where you can walk along the river Maas and enjoy the excellent views. The restaurant is nothing special but the food is tasty and the owner very friendly and helpful. This creates an excellent dining experience.

There are 3 types of way the food is cooked here. Tempura, wok and prepared. All of it is hot and tasty and you can go back again and again. Good variety of things that can be cooked as you watch! Clean tables and floors. Staff were friendly and welcoming. They also do takeaway!

I generally don't expect to find food of this quality and variety in a small town. With a great fusion of Asian and French cuisine, we enjoyed a very memorable evening.
The staff did everything they could to ensure we had a superb experience, from explain the menu in detail, to recommending good beers!
Het Raadhuis offer a varied selection of light snacks and full meals and we were spoiled for choice.

the hotel part of this place is great! reception remembers your preferences and ample parking. green surroundings, quiet! rooms are really cosy! but this is about the restaurant party. started here a couple of days. menu doesn't really change a lot for frequent business travelers. the chefs menu changes per season according to a ABC system. I'd you stay to long, the staff starts to prepare for breakfast. i don't like this. i have had the fazant, rib eye, fish. it is ok, but too expensive!
tip: stay here at the hotel, eat at Kessel, de Neerhof. great food!
