my second best restaurant in the city. it takes time to receive your order but the food is worth the wait. One is always satisfied with the quality.

Obviously a very popular restaurant in Ingolstadt, we couldn't make a same-day reservation. Were lucky to get two places at the counter/bar. Good local food (Schweinsbraten mit Knödel). I was esp. surprised about the speed of Delivery (about 5 min). Friendly service.

Sitting in the garden of the Pauli was enjoyable; we went there for lunch and the food was really good, as was the service. I had various grilled meats with fries and rice (bit high on the carbs, I know), and I thoruoghly enjoyed it. If I was hungry and close to the Pauli again, I'd return without a doubt.
The reason Pauli is not getting five stars is the noise from the nearby motorway; it makes it hard to have a decent conversation when sitting in the garden.

I travelled across to Ingolstadt with two work colleagues for a business meeting, we arrived on Tuesday afternoon for a Wednesday morning meeting. Our business host had recommended Schanzer Rutschn as a traditional Bavarian venue serving trad food and good beer - she wasn't wrong!
We all opted for the pork dishes in various guises and all thoroughly enjoyed the variety of well cooked food which was duly served. The pork was excellent, judging by both the colour of the meat and the flavour I would say the pork was outdoor reared, lovely dark meat with a delicious rich flavour and lovely tender, not fatty, consistency.
My colleagues had the Chef's special and the pork cooked in beer, both said their meals were fab, portions huge and the most enormous dumpling served with the meals, which also come with a braised, pickled cabbage side. I had the shoulder of pork again with the dumpling Boulder and a side of cabbage salad. Great crisp cackling and a delicious sauce...and what a gigantic portion!
We were offered side salads as an up-sell which we all accepted - don't, you'll never manage it, all three salads returned untouched. The staff are happy to box anything you can't manage, as the portions are sufficient for a small family this is sensible though not practical if you're staying in a hotel.
Weiss bier and wine selection excellent, if you sample enough of it you can have a go on the giant wooden slide before you go!
Highly recommended...

It definitely deserves the first spot on the list for restaurants in Ingolstadt. This restaurant is amazing! A real Italian staff creates a classy atmosphere, provides great service, and most important.....serves amazing food. I went there on a week day, so it was not super crowded, and enjoyed a very relaxing atmosphere. I will definitely go back if I have the chance.

They say this is the best stake house in town so we gave it a try.
It was really crowded and we hardly could get a table when we booked a week in advance.
We took the beefstake of the house with grilled vegetables. The meat was properly grilled however the taste was not smt. that you would expect from "the" best stake in town. Was Good but lacked just a bit of flavour to be perfect.
Vegetable was not good at all so rather take smt. else.

It had quite good number of Vegetarian dishes to choose with. So we tried. food was good. But service was extremely bad and we had wait unfortunately for 40 minutes before the food was served. Food is expensive.

Recommended by several locals for regional German specialities, I went to this gasthaus for dinner. The menu focuses on traditional Bavarian meals with a nice selection of lighter meal choices. Zeroing in on local specialties, I had very flavorful grilled pork medallions in a light mushroom gravy with homemade spätzle. The spätzle were eggy and buttery and had clearly been given that nice little extra touch of being put back into a skillet after being boiled. My vegetables were a tad over cooked, but not bad. I enjoyed a good dark kellerbier with my meal.
The restaurant had a nice mix of customers and children were well tolerated. The decor is nice, with attractive vaulted ceilings.

Have been there several times with all kinds of people (business, couple, friends, groups) and it´s always been perfect.
They serve huge stone baked pizza, varying pasta and salad.
House-made garlic and pepper oil, a table outside, a cool drink in hand and there´s your tiny bit of Italy in the city centre of Ingolstadt ;-)

I speak almost no German but it was not an issue here. The coffee was great made with a proper manual express machine as opposed to the automatic machines they seem to be using in most other places. So good to get a decent coffee.... Wide selection of food, all fresh and lots of Seating options. Seems quite a hip place as well.
