Perched on Tasmania’s southeastern coast, the lively city of Hobart is a unique mash-up of the 19th and 21st centuries. The waterfront cafes, restaurants and studios of the largest city in Tasmania are housed in centuries-old converted warehouses that overlook a harbor bustling with yachts and fishing boats. An active arts scene, vibrant nightlife and leisurely daytime pace add to the city’s charm.

Seventeen floors above the River Derwent, The Point Revolving restaurant at Wrest Point radiates 'special occasion.' When the doors open and the view unfolds, you'll understand why The Point has been a backdrop of memorable dining for over 40 years. This new refurbished Hobart restaurant is committed to people, produce and place. Our French-inspired menu weaves some of Tasmania's finest ingredients into a dining experience punctuated with theatre and flair, like the sound of Crepe Suzettes cooked at your table by your waiter. We love to put on a show at Wrest Point Tasmania, and this extends to dining. What's more, beyond the table entertainment, rolling views of Hobart's city, Tasman Bridge and Mount Wellington are priceless. If you want to celebrate, spoil those close and mark a new memory, let us set you a table at the top.
Visited this restaurant with another couple. As you come out of the lift one is greeted and welcomed to the restaurant. Table service extraordinary, nothing too much trouble, although they are also discreet not bothering your table unless needed.
Food beautiful, a variety of dishes ordered. Loved the prawns flambé and crepe Suzette at end of meal, wines very nice and suited our palate.
Locals don’t often visit this location, they need to take advantage of the beautiful view plus service and food, some of the best in Hobart. Costs compare very favorably with other restaurants around Hobart.

Another fabulous meal at Solo. The best calamari ever, tender and beautifully flash fried. Great pizzas and pasta. Lots of choices apart from pizza and pasta - meat, fish, chicken etc. A great wine list and prompt, efficient service. Street parking only but fairly easy to get a spot close by. The staff are great. Look out for Simon the very charming manager who likes to flirt a bit and make the ladies feel special. Almost a lost art in Australia. Viva Italia!

We had the pork knuckle and duck neck - both delicious and very substantial Will come back to try the 'finger plates' - saw a couple come out: fried chicken, marinated seafood and pigs ears (which I think of with some anxiety) All looked fantastic Another neighbouring table had a teenager who had the Parma - it too looked amazing and HUGE Very reasonably priced Wine by the glass and beer on tap

Bakers Of bread, Viennoiserie, cakes, patisserie & provisions. Full breakfasts, morning and afternoon tea, & lunch are offered in a bustling environment with professional service. Takeaways available, and child friendly.
Called in to this bakery for a quick bite to eat and a coffee. After much deliberation chose the smoked salmon, spinach & caramelised onion tart to share, with iced coffees. Very satisfying and tasty tart, accompanied by the creamy iced coffees. Would definately revisit if time allows.

Simply Thai
We checked on Trip Advisor for Thai restaurants in the area we were staying and as a result ended up at Ivory Cafe. To say this was amongst the best Thai food we have every had is not an understatement (and that's including travelling in Thailand!). The Chicken Green Curry, Prawn Pad Thai noodles and prawn dumplings were soooo good. Donna, the waitress is lovely and I can see why it is popular with locals as she seemed to know everyone and there was good banter going on between everyone. When so many locals go to a place as we have read in other reviews, there is a good reason for it. With Seating for, perhaps, a maximum of 25 people, we had to wait a little while for a table but no problem as there is a good wine bar two doors down called Etties. You will definitely not be disappointed in you visit here.

First visit I was drawn to the four cheese toastie - out of this world! Coffee was as fantastic as life saving and the open layout definately created a homly ambience. Did I mention they do fresh hot cinnamon doughnuts to order? Will be making Small fry a permanent part of my Hobart visits in future - keep it up guys, your amazing!

A pleasant experience overall with some imaginative interpretations of tapas. On the expensive side for what was served. The octopus main course was a disappointment as it was tough - anyone who has eaten octopus in Spain, particularly in Galicia, knows it is only good when cooked tender but firm.
