This site was an unexpected find! Great hiking trails and great walks along the shore line of Bathurst harbour. The trails were very well done with some boardwalk sections and some interpretative panels. The terrain is mostly flat, but there are a few hills and stairs. Someone with mobility issues would likely find it challenging, but it would be considered easy trails for beginner hikers.
The trails were free and had washrooms and picnic tables near the parking lot. There was an outlook for viewing and various benches along the trails as well. Lovely spot.

Clearly this area has been developed to give Bathurst a “centre point” for visitors and we felt it had worked
Tourist Information is in the middle of it and various interesting and sometimes expensive small businesses surround the area
It is pleasant to walk around and window shop, you are almost sure to be tempted by something!
Worth a visit

This was a very beautiful spot to come relax and sit by the water. The falls themselves do not have a vertical descent like what you might consider as a traditional waterfall. However, the calm river rushing to a roar over the rapids was a great backdrop to display New Brunswick's natural beauty at its best.
One of the really nice things about this waterfall is that there was essentially no hike to see it. You could drive your car practically right up to the viewing area. And it's free.
I would recommend this spot for peaceful scenery - but travellers should be aware its more of a set of charging rapids than a vertical descent waterfall.

We visited Pokeshaw Rock in August, and it was pretty much the end of tourist season. A quick drive from Bathust, we missed the entrance the first time as the picnic area was chained off. The rock (although huge) was not visible from the road as we went by.
On the way back (after we figured out we missed it) the rock was pretty much impossible to miss.
There are two turnoffs – one is for a picnic area (which was chained off when we arrived so we parked outside the chain). There are a few picnic tables in an open, grassy area and an outhouse. From the picnic area, you can walk down to the beach to get closer to Pokeshaw rock.
The other way in is an unmarked gravel road just past the picnic area, where you can drive down towards the beach and park.
Pokeshaw rock is pretty cool to see with the water around it and seabirds flocking to the top, but when the tide goes out you can walk across the rocks and get right up close. That's what makes Pokeshaw Rock really cool.
If we had only stayed for high tide we would have enjoyed the view, but low tide is definitely more enjoyable. Highly recommended for low tide!

The drive around the racetrack was very interesting, to see it as a real race circuit after trying to imagine from on TV. The museum bought back many memories of cars gone by over the years.

Beautiful hiking trail located along the Nepisiguit river. Breath taking views at basically every kilometers. Recommend a good pair of hiking boots, hiking poles and a camera to capture memories. The trail is well mark and easily accessible. Still in development, but this hiking trail will not deceive !
