We enjoyed our time here. The sunny day with a group of friends. It's spacious but on warm days can be very popular. The service was quick and efficient and we certainly liked the food. One little notice: our calamari fritti were very salted, everything else was as we wanted it go be.

The inn known as “Zur Dankbarkeit” (“The Gratitude”) has been a beloved classic for a long time in the Pannonian restaurant scene. It is a popular meeting place for everyone who loves delicious, down-to-earth food.
This restaurant is a real hidden gem. It is a family run restaurant offering excellent food and service. They also have wonderful wines from their vineyards. There are seasonal variety built into the menu and some favorite standards. To begin with, order the wonderful Jewish liver pate…to die for.
I have been there often will go many times more.

We had an excellent mid week lunch here. The staff were very friendly and our waiter was great. The food was excellent - a great mix of traditional Austrian and international cuisine. Beautifully presented, good portion size and most importantly delicious.
As we were driving we did not sample much wine but this is also a winery. I tried both their Chardonnay and Gelber Muskateller which were well balanced aromatic wines. We purchased some to take home.
We did not stay in the hotel but the overall impression from the restaurant and reception would encourage me to consider staying the night if I were to return.

Visiting the "Blaue Gans" (Blue Goose) is just like a short holiday. Our Chef de Cuisine Martin Kugler and his team will spoil you with a perfect combination of Pannonian and Mediterranean food; down-to earth, yet with impressive finesse. We place particular emphasis on regional products - wine, fish, beer, and others - which we purchase from suppliers just around the corner. We take great pride in our wine list and a wide variety of sparkling wines and champagne. Weather permitting, the view from our Terrace across Weiden's cosy lakeside marina will make you forget the daily hustle and bustle.
I dined here with my boyfriend on a very hot summer evening. We sat outside on the patio and the atmosphere and surroundings were really lovely. The service was good and very friendly. The food was also excellent. I had the lamb cutlets and they where delicious !!! The sauce was so full of flavor and the meat perfectly cooked and tender. I didn't particularly love the chick peas it was served with ( they were underdone ) but regardless it was one of the best meals I've ever had.
After our meal we went up to the bar and had a few delicious cocktails.
It would be my pleasure to eat there again next time I'm in Austria.

This is not a stylish place, nor will you be served sophisticated preparations or sauces. I think they do not serve any other main course but fish. But - what a fish ! Fresh from the Neusiedlersee, prepared to perfection. We had the fish platter for two with Perch (Fogosch), wild Carper ( Karpfen), pike ( Hecht) and catfish ( Wels) . We could not have chosen better. It came with a perfectly seasoned mixed salad and grilled vegetables as well as parsley potatoes. Unfortunately we had no space for dessert, but what we saw served at other tables looked mouth watering. The service was friendly and efficient, our dog got water without us asking for it.
Gols is only an hour's drive from Vienna- vaut le voyage !

Coming back from Hangary to Vienna, we made a small detour to Gols. The restaurant serves wine from the Schrammel winery. The food selection compliments the wine menu. And the wine is pretty spectacular. I tried various samples with a speck and cheese plate. (The staff was kind enough to let me bring the wooden platter and knife home with me) The atmosphere is relaxed and quiet. The service is great. The food is wonderful. I recommend you try to find this place...

The Preshchitz Wiengut & Buschschenke (Winery and Wine Bar) was a real treat. This is a restaurant with a winery in the basement. We had a very light dinner here; meats cheeses and lots and lots of wine. This part of Europe mostly specializes in white wines, but here they had some very good reds as well. We stayed within walking distance from here which was essential for our trip back after we were finished.
One of the people we were travelling with has an uncle that lives in this neighborhood so we stayed at a local inn and were brought here for our evening meal while here. We all had a great time enjoying good food, fine wine, and great company. After dinner, we were given a tour of their winery and purchased several bottles to take with us.
If you make it here, I suggest you try the Trockenbeerenauslese. This is a wonderful desert wine that is a real treat. Also, be sure to try their Zweigelt. This is the first wine produce by the son of the owner and Preschitz second generation of wine makers. It's actual quite good.
If you’re visiting this area do not pass this place by.
