A warm welcome to the Hotel Jean-Jacques Rousseau - on the shores of Lake Biel and surrounded by vineyards! Our rooms offer incomparable views of the lake. All rooms have been refurbished in a Mediterranean style, have modern furnishings and a bath or shower. Allow us to spoil you with our new-age cuisine with Asian influences. The unique ambience and beautiful sunsets will soon put you in the holiday mood. In line with Rousseau's ideas, it is a natural oasis - with fascinating excursion possibilities, a romantic garden, lots of peace and quiet and a superb view of the lake and the Swiss Alps.

It was a great surprise to find such a beautiful restaurant in this tiny picturesque village in the swiss country very close to Neuchatel. The building outside is very well maintained and inside is a nice surprise to find unusual chandeliers and old wooden beams on the ceiling. The cold duck liver tart tatin was a wonderful surprise with its warm brioche and pear slices.Very tasty the curry prawns served with perfectly roasted fresh pineapple and rice.Original the orange cake served with fresh passion fruit. Wines also by the glass and very kind service. For lunch there are always some special for a cheap price and the dinner menu is very intriguing .....stuffed Guinea fowl leg with fois gras as an example or oysters or escargots.

This a nice place to go if you are looking for something out of the cities. It's a rustic, quint restaurant with traditional simple food. The meat is good quality I have heard the game season is the best time to go.
They have nice local wines to taste.

We had a lunch on a summer noon at the Terrace under the trees. Good execellent food, friendly service and they let you enjoy the food and drinks. You may have a nice view on the Munster. It is located in the inspiring area of St Aban and nearby the small ferry to cross the Rhine.

This is an unassuming village restaurant, but its attention to detail and the quality produce used have made it regionally quite well known and brought about the award of 13 out of 20 on the Gault-Millaut scale.
They work mainly with local produce and fish from the nearby lake, some dishes are traditional and some are quite up to date. The "filet de perche" or "Eglifilets" baked in a batter and served with tartar sauce are a swiss classic and I have naver been surved such a light, classy, tasty version. The wine selection is excellent, with many quality local bottles at reasonable prices. A really good place for a family sunday lunch, for example. The 90 minutes drive from Geneva or 30 minutes from Bern are easily worthwhile, especially if combined with a hike in a magnificient part of Switzerland.

A country restaurant that does everything right: Subtle lighting for dinner, attentive service and great down-to-earth food

I booked the night before and when we arrived were shown to the Terrace in the Sunshine. The service was friendly and caring. We had bread with mushrooms in olive oil which was good. Then very fresh salads and followed with the Italian lemon chicken with spinach and saffron rice. The chicken was ten out of ten !
A few problems seemed to be happening with another large table with slow service but my guess was the customers were too fussy !
We will go again happily.

Nice view over the lake with pretty outside terrasse. That's for the good part. The food was disappointing and worse my partner had an all most immediate intoxication reaction after eating la plancha - something not fresh there! Nothing special - go somewhere else !

nice service people (self-service), restaurant looks like a camping-restaurant, if your expectation is not to high you will be satisfied. If you expect a nice dinner and nice atmosphere, don't eat in this restaurant. the muffins (not self made) are very good. the food was average.
