Good selection of meals. You may want to look for 'Meals for the less hungry' or similar. Otherwise you are ind for fairly huge servings.

Vacationing visiting a long time family friend and family and had dinner here. Everyone's food was tasty, the meat dishes were succulent, cooked to everyone liking and filling, the rice served was outstanding and the service top-notch. Dessert was sweet, filling and the portions were good sized. The food, staff and price were all outstanding.
The water views from our table provided a stunning sunset!

The "Fishdeel" is situated in the old part of the fisher town of Eckernfoerde.(please observe that the entrance is in the "Kurze Strasse") We knew the restaurant from our first visit under the previous owners a few years ago, but the methamorphosis by the new owners took our breath. Though the restaurant was completely booked out for many dasys in a row, (we saw the reservation book) we were surprised by the very efficient but relaxed and friendly way the guests were served this evening. After a short introduction by a very competent waitress, we enjoyed her suggestion beginning with a well balanced aperitif of Sekt with Strawberries, Limette and Mint. The main dish was seabass with scrimps on a bed of asparagus and grilled slices of carrots, together with young potatos ("Ackerkartoffeln") with a butter-lemon-safran sauce and was served after a very short waiting time. Together with a glas of Sauvignon Blanc we decided to give a full five star rating.

We recently attended a luncheon event at the Siegfried Werft for a large group (30+ people). It was very clear that the management is unable to handle such a large group. The wait for food was approximately 1 1/2 hours past the agreed upon time, even though the food was to be served family style and was ordered in advance. The amount of food served was inconsistent among the tables. At our table, I managed to get one piece of cauliflower and one piece of broccoli from the vegetable dish. There was no refill, at least at our table. Both meat and fish were served. I heard that the meat was average, but only one of the three types of fish I had was properly cooked, most being overdone and dry. Potatoes were good. The service was variable; more servers should have been dedicated to our group. The servers were also not overly friendly. There was no language issue because the group was predominantly German with a couple of Americans as myself who can speak and understand German. Overall the quality of the food was average, and I left the restaurant still hungry.
Another major issue was their lack of attention to the several vegetarians who were present. The hosts had discussed with the management beforehand that there would be vegetarians in the group. The plan was for the vegetarians to be able to choose from the menu. There was no effort made to give menus to the vegetarians during the 1 1/2 hour wait, and the menus only finally arrived at the same time as the rest of the food was being served, so to order from the menu would have required even more time for the food to be prepared and the meal would have been over. The servers appeared oblivious to the needs of the vegetarians and had to be repeatedly asked for vegetarian food. One server curtly said that there was a salad for each person and that there were vegetables present on the table that they could eat. As stated above, there were insufficient vegetables to go around and the potatoes while good were cooked with bacon pieces. After most people were done eating, the servers finally brought out a few deep-fried mozzarella sticks with lettuce for the vegetarians.
Having read some of the other reviews, it is possible that the food is of good quality for tables of two or four, but they are clearly not capable of handling a group. I would advise going elsewhere if one is planning an event in Eckenfoerde.

Had an excellent meal here one evening during my stay in Eckernfoerde for a conference. The restaurant is on the little main square and has a very traditional feel. Everything we ordered was excellent...soups, fish, chicken and desserts. Service was efficient and friendly. Highly recommended.

A wine pub! They have a great selection of wines, from the Phalz (the Palatinate) also a nice selection of snacks.

Pretty good Italian food for being so far away from everything, especially Italy. The menu is large with specials changing daily (we dined here 2 nights in a row). The staff is friendly, helpful and efficient. The atmosphere is casual and easy-going, with Seating outside as well. And to top it off, they made a proper Aperol spritz.

Book a table or risk being disappointed! This place in the heart of old Eckernforde is tiny and was absolutely packed when we got there at 7:30pm. Our table was waiting with its reserved sign, thank goodness! Try this very popular place for its great, buzzy atmosphere. It's a pub, really, with a limited menu. Though in a fishing port, it isn't a fish restaurant. There was just one type of fish (chilled herring). Also no white meat options. Nevertheless, the food tasted delicious - steaks perfectly cooked. It was great fun to sit and watch all the activity in such a popular place. Waitress was delightful and juggling everything with a smile. Not surprising this is such a popular local as it oozes character. Cash only. And no desserts. Finish with a potent raspberry schnapps instead!

Pizzeria S'historia in Eckernfoerde was far more than a typical pizzeria; it was a restaurant serving authentic Italian food. Not unusual for an Italian restaurant, the menu was complete with pizzas, antipasti, soups, pasta and other entrees. Several of our party ordered pizza and were extremely pleased with the quality. Another had a calzone which was generous in its size and contents and very good in the blend of flavors with perfectly baked crust. However, one must not overlook the house specials. Two of the party, myself being one, ordered carpaccio (one of the specials) which was very thinly sliced raw deer meat (rather than the traditional beef) with thinly sliced fresh raw mushrooms, thin slices of Parmesan cheese and a delicate green peppercorn cream sauce. We found this to not only be unique but a marvelous combination of perfectly complementary flavors and textures which united to create a totally different flavor sensation. The meat was so thin and delicate that it literally melted in your mouth. The wife and the chef are the owners of the restaurant. She was the sole server that evening and was absolutely charming with a wonderful sense of humor. We thoroughly enjoyed talking with her. Despite the fact that she was the only server, the wait time for food was normal. We had an opportunity to talk with the chef, and it was very clear that he was extremely proud of his Italian heritage and was dedicated to presenting food that was purely Italian and not modified to German or American tastes. In fact, he good-naturedly chastised me for asking if there would be a side dish of pasta with my carpaccio, saying that it would be totally inappropriate to accompany that dish with pasta. Overall, this was an extremely pleasant evening with outstanding food and service from a charming husband and wife. We actually returned several nights later and both the service and quality of food were equally as good as the first night. After chatting again with both the husband and wife, we left feeling that we have made two new friends.
