We stopped here after biking up from Ebensee for a cold beer and salad. The food was wonderful and the location spectacular.

The coffee was good as almost everywhere else in Austria.
Prices were the same as well (3.4 euro a latte or a brauner).
The cakes were tasty: a topfenstrudel, a gugelhupf, and a bananenschnitte.
Same with the prices: between 2.4 and 3.10 euro...
The location was very nice, near the bank of the Traunsee lake...
Altogether we enjoyed our break there visiting Traunkirchen...

Typical local austrian cuisine. We spent three evenings here and ate our way through the menu without ever being disappointed. The interior is attractively barn-like and in good weather the courtyard is large and yet has a cosy feeling. The service is excellent. Most notable is the fact that almost all customers are locals.

The last time went to Roitherwirt I had the schweinsbraten. The meat was really juicy, and the semmelknödel was quite excellent! Perhaps the best part was the sauce, which hit the spot.

On our way from lake Offensee to lake Langbarth See ( lake Langbarth) we stopped at Landgasthaus Kreh for lunch. Sitting cosily in a pavillion on the large Terrace in front of the restaurant we had a stunning view and loved the impressive montains surrounding us. The friendly waitress served us tasty traditional austrian food. I enjoyed a "Backhendlsalat" ( very nice fried chicken with lettuce) my friend the typical "Schweinebraten" ( Pork Rost) with dumplings, potatoes, cabbage and gravy. All followed by a lovely dessert "Palatschinken" ( sort of pancake) with cream, iceceam and hot rasberries. No time to think of the calories.

The gourmet meeting place in the Seehotel Restaurant "Bootshaus". A gourmet restaurant directly built on a boathouse: modern interpretation with proper style materials and elements - to contemporary art on the walls. Our chef Lukas Nagl sets the tone here. The multiple award-winning chef and his talented team convince their kitchen, which quot under the motto "changing values". Fish, vegetables and meat have the same status here. With the motto " PUR: Products and unadulterated rar" brings the chef and his team the gustatory stimuli of regional raw materials to the point. Whether the taste of local Porcini mushrooms or fish from the Traunsee, guests can look forward to genuine-intensive flavors. Very high beverage competence with two sommeliers. A huge variety of wine, beer and juice specialities is offered. Voted to "Wine hotel of the year" in the year 2015.
We came for dinner, and were very pleased. The menu is diverse, and the fresh lake fish was excellent, as was my curry rizotto and our fresh vegetable salads. The service was friendly, polite and efficient, ans spoke English. They are open year-round, and accept...MoreDear guest! Thank you very much for your positive remark and we are happy you enjoyed your stay with us that much! We are looking forward to welcoming you soon again! Best regards from Lake Traunsee, Family Gröller & Team

We ended the night here for Fasching Monday and we should have come earlier!!! Fun little place, of course we were there for Fasching at 2 in the morning but the folks made everyone feel welcome and the drinks and food very reasonably priced. If you are wandering throught city it is right next to the downtown area and close to the train station. You can go everywhere from there. I recommend this place for quick stop or if you are awaiting a train or just for a picturesque lake view.
If you find this helpful please mark it so.

If you are staying at the Hotel Post in Traunkirchen, there are not too many eating options outside the hotel. The Klosterstube is one of the few, and it does not disappoint. Excellent fish and steak dishes, not unreasonably priced, served in a pleasant outside courtyard. You would be well advised to buy wine by the glass rather than the bottle, though - much better value, and the house wines are more than adequate.

Capucino taste like it was made from instant coffee Two kind of strudels taste strange, and it was not similar to the same cakes which I tried in other different places (in Gmunden or Linz). Generally my opinion of this place is: fast and not cheap - this is not an austrian's quality.

The place was roomy and quaint. We were there on a night when the local dance club got together and they were having a very good time. We also had a good time dining with many of our friends from Austria. They were very accommodating and were gracious in every request we had. The food was very good I recommend the Grillteller with three meats although the rump steak plate was also excellent. All the meals were delicious and the beer was good. A good place to go with 2 or 20.
