We visited for dinner in August 2017 (we were not staying in the Plockton Inn). The restaurant was GREAT! The specials dissapeared from the blackboard quickly, for good reason. I went for the prawns as a main, and I was not dissapointed! The food was excellent, the staff were friendly, and the portions were filling, well-priced, and nicely presented. Parking was no problem. I would recommend making a reservation, as it was completely full on the night that we visited (although it was mid-Summer!). I an heartily recommend this restaurant.

With staying between the Isle of Skye and Dornan, the options for dinner were not many. One spot, however, had great reviews: The Waterside Seafood in Kyle of Lochalsh. Based on the reviews, we stopped before lunch time on our way into the Isle of Skye to make a reservation for that night. We were glad to have one, because we saw all walk-ins being turned away while we were there. Being on the dock, their menu is handwritten on a blackboard, based on what the ships brought. That day, we ordered the scallops as appetizer – melt-in-your-mouth and buttery wonders – and one order of the langoustines and one of the monkfish. The langoustines could not have been fresher, and the monkfish was tender and accompanied by a rich, creamy coconut curry sauce. We finish our meal with some homemade profiteroles – a perfect, sweet treat to round a great dinner. We strongly recommend the Waterside Seafood if you’re in the vicinity. We would go back every opportunity we’d have.

This is a lovely central hotel and if you want to buy a drink and sit on their outdoor Terrace then you should. I would strongly advise against eating there - a number of people had told us it wasn't good but on our last evening it was the only place in Plockton we could get food. We opted for the special - steak and ale pie. The pie was more weak gravy than anything else with the meat there was the cheapest ams most gristly cut - just horrid. So for drinks and views a 4 and for food a 2 so I have given a 3 overall.

After their annual holiday closure Plockton Shores reopened for this season two days ago. Had another wonderful lunch there today. Imaginative food, well presented and very good value. BUT like we dud do reserve your table before going. Plockton looked lovely today and this restaurant made our day trip from Portree really memorable.

The pub is a few hundred meters from the Eilean an Donan castle, just on the other side of the road and in front of the canal.
The food was very nice: we took a tasty soup of the day, excellent fish and chips and roast lamb.
It is very busy so you should book in advance.

The Harbour Fish bar is Plocktons Fish & Chip Shop. We Specialise in the freshest fish and local produce. Seating is outside this petite takeaway. We also serve fresh coffees (cappucino, latte etc..),whipped ice cream & Pizza to go.
This is my idea of the ideal restaurant. The folks are so friendly and welcoming you feel like you've been coming there for years the first time you set foot inside the door and the food is excellent.
They offer fish and chips, pizza, various puddings, and other delightful choices and also cater to the vegetarian life. My wife's a vegetarian and was very impressed. Gluten-free dishes are also available and the staff seemed quite knowledgeable about food allergies and were able to make informed suggestions to a couple in front of us.
If you're in Plockton, there are many fine places you can choose to eat but I highly recommend reserving one meal for the Harbour Fish Bar. You just take your fish and chips and a cup of their excellent coffee and go find an empty table down by the water - and enjoy.

We were advised to go here and we're so pleased we did. Probably the best meal of our NC500 tandem adventure. Great service and really tasty food

We were uncertain about this restaurant as the name is so cheesy and it looks like a rather naff diner from the road but heartened by the sound reviews we decided to cheer ourselves up after a rainy day. And it did just that: friendly waiter and relaxed service with tasty food.

Had dinner here twice while staying at the hotel. We enjoyed our meal on both nights. Seafood platter was fresh and well presented, chicken in mushroom sauce very tasty. Key lime pie was also enjoyable. Service could be a liitle more attentive but in all fairness they were very busy.

After getting absolutely soaked coming back over the bridge to the visitor centre a great latte and cake was very welcome.
