As the ancient capital of the Burgundy province, Dijon is an architecturally rich city offering far more than mustard. In its restored medieval core, you'll discover one of France's oldest museums, the MusÂe des Beaux-Arts, as well as the elegant Palace of the Dukes and the opulent 1614 mansion HÂtel de Vogue. Take a quiet walk through the lime- and chestnut-lined paths of Cours du Parc, a green space dating to 1671, and don't forget to pair the region's rich history with its gastronomic delights.

The Restaurant Stéphane Derbord is found in the heart of Dijon and offers a creative cuisine, rich in the flavours of Burgundy.Tuck into dishes such as Bourgogne snails; frog's legs risotto; fillet of Charolais red label beef; roasted rabbit with thyme powder and citrus flavoured crispy tart. Whether you choose form the set menu or a la carte, you can enjoy a variety of flavours and prices. The younger gourmets have not been left out either, with very affordable children?s menus available.
We booked an early lunch and were first to arrive at the restaurant.. We were warmly greeted by ALL the staff in the restaurant. We were seated and every staff that working came to our table and greeted Bonjour to us. We been to Three and Two Star restaurants and was never treated with such warmness. Apart from such personal services, the quality of food was top notch. We ordered the 69Euro and every dishes never fail to amuse us. We especially like the main course pigeon which was well cooked and delicious. It was a wonderful dining experience. Definitely worth more than the ONE Star awarded.

a stone's throw from the Palais Des Ducs, the restaurant welcommes you to its distinctive setting where you'll enjoy specialities from Burgundy and the Lyon region. Home-style cooking. The decor, qiute simple and rustic, adds to the restaurant's convivial atmosphere. summer's terace
Very nice small restaurant near to several others with tables on the street near the Palais de Justice. The food was delicious. I had poached eggs in red wine sauce, something I'd shied away from in the past, but it was perfectly cooked and very tasty. My husband had the terrine de campagne, followed by roasted salmon and I had the beef with Epoisses sauce - all excellent. We finished with ice creams/sorbets of which they have a great selection, including various combinations using different ices with liqueurs. The set menu is 28 euros for three courses and good value for the quality.
Friendly service, great atmosphere. Would recommend it to anyone (except vegetarians).

Our dinner. Where to start describing it?
With the restaurant's cool, modern atmosphere with its strange row of birch trunks along the wall (which reminded us a bit of Hans im Glück, Germany's most recent burger chain)?
With the perfect, if somewhat formal service (where some staff still have to realize that smiling isn't a felony)?
With the chef who gave his name to this extraordinary place, who runs Dijon's only two-star Restaurant, and who is either very shy or was too busy or wasn't in last night (which cannot be because we were told that he invents his signature menu on the spot, depending on what's available in the kitchen)?
With the William Frachot Signature Menu itself, which was everything we hoped for when we made our booking a few months ago, when we knew we would stop over in Dijon, a treat for the eye and a feast for the palate, exquisitely prepared, artistically presented, and creatively combined (only the tripe-stuffed squid was a bit too creative for my wife - I loved it though)?
Or with the harmonious and generous pairing with Burgundy wines (we decided to stick to the region, although in the list we had discovered some great representatives from our home turf), recommended and explained by a sommelier who really loves his job (I would too) and really knows about it (I would not)?
I don't know, that's why I'll leave it at this: We'll be back.

Be sure to make a reservation as this is a small, tight place(your chair literally touches the one behind you) menu has some whimsical and nice aperitifs and cocktails. You begin with baguettes with a delicious chicken rillette or mousse spread. I enjoyed the Mille fuille with crab rillettes as an entree. Wife had the paella with mussels and whitefish, very tasty. I ordered the fillet of the famous white cows(charolais) aged 45 days. Problem may have been communication but I received a raw, cold steak, literally couldn't chew it. Lovely hostess was telling me in French that it was too good to over cook! Heck, I just wanted medium-rare! But she took it and returned rather quickly with it butterflied and nicely done. The real treat was the specialty dessert, the Paris Brest. A large puff paste circle, split and filled with vanilla cream, ice cream in the middle and lots of candied nuts! D- li-cious!!
One of the most enjoyable part of the experience is when you let Madame select your wines. She will bring bottles wrapped in towels, pour you a sip and if you approve she does a reveal to show you what you are drinking, great fun!
Best of all, at our departure she asked me very sincerely "did you enjoy your meal?"
Oui Madame!

The Tout a la Plancha restaurant in Dijon is a very nice spot with delicious food and a courteous service.
It blends the French style of cuisine with some Portuguese ingredients and recipes. The result is fantastically good.
It was one our best meals in France and we recommend it strongly.

Low key but excellent gem of an establishment. Le Patron has a great knowledge of wine ( Well, my lady was impressed and she knows much — not bad for a virtual non drinker)
The organic food is sourced locally, the owner reeling off what farms the veg came from, which producer made what wine etc.
We had the final nightcap of our visit here , which resulted in a friendly argument with Le Patron who tried not to charge us.
Situated a couple of minutes from where we were staying was helpful, especially late at night.
Our joint favourite Dijon restaurant , and there are a lot of restaurants in Dijon.

Food was ok but nothing special, I have had better. Salad with cheese (époisses) nothing extraordinary, pork cheeks main course interesting as you wouldn't find often in England and quite tasty but disappointed with side of vegetables.
Didn't seem too touristy compared to others and friendly enough.
Good wine.

A simple, tiny, really Japanese eatery, where fresh ingredients are well executed the Japanese way and served with big authentic smiles. The customer smiles when the bill arrives.
