This place beats any tavern or lounge I've seen in NYC, Barcelona etc... The vibe is comfortable, relaxing and groovy. The drinks range from quality beers to international wines and creative cocktails. The service is professional and the crowd is semi professional, 25 to 45 and great for groups. You feel like you are in a antique shop in the center of the historical town.

Los Geranios is across from the fort (Battilon sp?) near Milan in Manizales. They have typical Colombia dishes all done very well. The service is great. The owners are almost always there making sure you have a pleasant meal. Not fancy but clean and comfortable.

We loved this place, only visited it one night but I had a delicious plantain (baked potato style) that was stuffed with chorizo, cheese and a tomato sauce. Extremely delicious!! My boyfriend and I came to this restaurant based on the excellent reviews. When we first came in we asked to see the menu as we had no idea what prices were like. Quite expensive, but we decided to go with it for a treat. Our waiter, the one who we asked to see the menu to start with and who served us for the rest of our visit, was rude, unfriendly, inattentive and frankly made us feel uncomfortable and unwanted all evening. He brought us some water and bread, then asked if we wanted to order drinks. We asked to see the menu again - we'd obviously only glanced before so had no idea what drinks we wanted. This seemed to annoy him a great deal, and after bringing us the menus he ignored us for a good 20 minutes. Despite the (very professional, nice and friendly, by the way) chef coming and taking our food orders, and telling us our waiter would be back to take our drink orders shortly we ended up getting so fed up waiting we waved down a different waiter. It was our original waiter who brought us the wine in the end and he told us that the wine we had ordered was not available. He said he'd replace it with a different bottle. I asked him directly if it was the same price, and he said yes.
When it came to pay the bill though, said wine cost around 20% more than the other bottle. We complained about this and he refused to mark it down to the price of the one we ordered. So we decided screw it, we'd just take it out of his tip. But when we paid, he automatically included the whole (suggested) service charge. We had to complain again and say we did NOT want to leave the tip. When we said this, he called some manager lady over who wanted to know why we were unhappy and we had to explain everything again. The whole thing was embarrassing and stressful.
To be fair, the chef, the other waiter who served us once, and the lady at the end, were all extremely professional and nice people. And both food and wine were excellent. The exception was our waiter. His attitude completely ruined our evening, so we won't be back and would NOT recommend. There are plenty of other decent restaurants in Manizales where you don't have to deal with this crap.

this is a modest restaurant on the way to the aguas termales de Santa Rosa de Cabral (worthwhile checking out as well). We only stopped there because we had to eat something. The place did not look promising at all. We had heard that the chorizos santarrosanos were the best of the country, but it blew our mind! The platters (bandejas) were very good. Home style cooking at its best: avocado, rice, beans, fried plantain, an egg, an arepa and one or two sausages. The guanábana juice was also very good. Service was on the slow side, but ok, given the quality of the food.

Desserts looked fantastic but we came for a whole meal. It is a pasteleria but we enjoyed a great simple lunch here. The establishment is spacey, the tables are simple but the menu is also in English. The service was a little slow and the...MoreHi there! Thanks for your detailed review! :)

Fantastic restaurant in Manizales. Great Spanish influenced menu, with excellent choices. The husband-wife chef combo make this small restaurant thrive. They are hands on and have obvious pride in their food. Great atmosphere, great service and excellent food. We were a group of 9 and we all enjoyed the evening. Excellent choice.
Excellent fish, meat and vegetable dishes.

We had an amazing meal here. The food was tasty and the steaks we cooked to perfection. Our waiter was very attentive and had good english where our spanish was not good enough! The wine was also delicious. We would have gone back had we haf another night.

We lucked out and were only a 5 minute walk from this restaurant. A little tough to find but I think that you can do it. They have indoor and outdoor Seating, we sat outdoor and it got a little chilly, so if you do want to sit outside I recommend bringing a light jacket. The grill station where they were cooking all of their burgers is located on the outside front patio as well - and it smells so good (but thankfully you don't leave smelling like the bbq grill). It's a Spanish-influenced restaurant but I'm telling you - order the burger. Everyone else had burgers coming to their table so I thought well there must be something going on here and I was right. They are big, tasty and only cost 10,000 COP (about $4 usd). My wife had their shrimp ceviche. It had great flavor but came out at room temp, I like mine colder. She also had the grilled veggie salad. Yum. You cannot go wrong there either. It's a mountain of freshly grilled veggies seasoned to perfection! Bon Appetite!
