This is in our opinion the best HOME-MADE pasta shop in this area (Chiavari, Lavagna, Sestri Levante). You can buy here excellent ravioli, tortellini, trofie - the typical Ligurian pasta - and delicious "sughi"( = pasta sauces) from the characteristic "pesto" (the basil and garlic sugo) to the unsurpassed seafood sauce which will be a treat served with 'trofie' for friends coming to dinner. If you come to the area do not miss it!!!
Do also not forget to buy the big 'ravioli verdi' to eat simply with olive oli and grated Parmesan cheese. Mmmmm better than going to a restaurant ..... enjoy!

Situated in the small Chiavari harbor, Dragut offers an elegant and welcoming location with air conditioning and private room. During the summer times one can take advantage of the beautiful and naturally aired veranda . It is ideal for a night out with friends, a candle light or a business dinner.
I went there with my family because a lot of people suggested it to us and I have to say it is an amazing place.
We ate something like ten different types of meat roasted on the spit with sixteen sides and appetisers, everything cooked perfectly. For dessert they gave us roasted pineapple with cinnamon that was simply delicious.
We drank caipirinha, Brazilian beer and caipirinha made with passion fruit that contributed to create a perfect Brazilian atmosphere. Moreover the waiters are really kind and funny and are all from Brazil.
It might seem a little bit expensive but it's really worth it.

Although we are used to wine & dine in the area, our first dinner at "Da Felice" was a unique dining experience.
Saverio (Xavier) who welcomed us, personally took care of our table and helped us discover some Ligurian food we never heard of before.
He suggested we had Calamari "Cacciaroli Ripieni" and "Cappon Magro" to start with: Two exquisite little gastronomic master pieces, very light and refined starter dishes à la carte, among other items that we did know.
The most amazing discovery was the main course: We had "Morone", a very rare and absolutely delicious deep sea fish we never heard of. Apparently it can be found sometimes in the Ligurian Sea. It is also known under the name "Ricciola di Fondale"
The best fish we ever had. This was a unique and exciting dining experience.
It is definitely worth while to reserve a table and get off the autostrada between Genova and La Spezia to indulge in this unique type of local gastronomy. Saverio can provide guidance in English for your preferences among the delicious specialties of this excellent cuisine

Very simple: if you're ever in Chiavari, you cannot miss this! We walked in expecting your average Ligurian trattoria and came out satiated and smiling. The sformato and baccala mantecato were worthy of white tablecloth restaurants, the pasta con salsicce and broiled fish were up there with the best. Not to mention the amazing homemade desserts. What a meal! Have staff suggest a wine to go along, too: there are some incredible diamonds buried in that list. Best price/quality ratio meal we have had in a loooooooong time

Il meglio della cucina indiana in un ambiente accoglientee raffinato
A beautiful setting, great food and helpful English speaking owner made this dining experience delightful. The food was traditional Indian but listed in Italian on the menu. So, we had a bit of difficulty understanding but the owner quickly came to the rescue and walked us through the details. The lamb dish was great.

First, it's not easy to stand out as a pizzeria in Liguria. There are some great pizzerias here and the bread shops also make fantastic pizza. Malu is one of the best pizzerias in Chiavari. The owner makes the pizza and he is proud of his ingredients. The daughter is an Anglophile so she can translate for the English clientele. The specialty pizza Malu is too heavy for my tastes. The simple pizzas are, in my view, the best.
The interior is a cut above the normal pizzeria. Take away from 1845 to 1930 - that makes dining in much nicer.
I like to make pizza at home. But when I want to go out for it, I will go to Malu.

Brewpub serving their own craftbeer and beer-cooking.
This is an artisan brew-house, using traditional brewing techniques for carrying a little range of beers for season: when we were there they proposed an Irish Ale and a Pilsner. I can say I tried beers like these in England or in Germany only. The...MoreThank you very much for coming and I'm very happy you found beer and food as we try to serve them. Hope to see you again in Chiavari.

Dasso is the most amazing place...but to think that this upscale, modern, sleek pasta shop is in the middle of an old, small town....well, that is mind blowing! The pasta is handmade daily and the clerks are most helpful with how to prepare and suggestions for the right sauce to accompany the pasta. Do NOT miss this if you visit Lavagna!

The choice of pizza's is great, but if you don't like pizza, there are almost no alternatives. Chaotic, but that's normal, nice polite staff and a bit high priced. There are better places in Chiavari to have a good pizza and cost lessDear Johan B, I agree with you, you can find a place where pizza is cheaper, but definitely not better! At M'aMa we prefer quality than quantity at small prices, enjoy your meal Matteo e il team M'aMa
