In response to the anonymous Facebook reviewer: yes it is true that Sara can be...hmmm... exuberantly friendly, but that does NOT detract form the quality of the food or from the overall experience.
It is still and always one of our favorite go-to places in Como.

We were staying at the Villa d'Este and the concierge suggested this restaurant which is just a couple minutes from the front gate.
The garden area was not open as it was mid-September. Although the weather was still nice it was not quite warm enough apparently, and there are no outdoor heaters. We ate inside in a very attractive dining room -but lighting was way too bright. The nicely set tables really require a lower light level. I felt like we were eating in a cafeteria when it came to how bright it felt in the main dining room.
Our salads and pizza were good, although our food arrived after the other diner's food did around us. The pizzas were well crafted and cooked beautifully in what must be a wood burning pizza oven. Many diners around us ordered pizzas as individual dinners but that would be way too much! We split one pizza and could not finish it.
A good meal, but turn the lights down.

Little tavern/bistro around the corner from Hotel Miralago serving wonderful local specialties and a great selection of wines
We got an "aperitivo" with a great Nebbiolo and eating some well prepared simple dishes. The quantities were suitable for an "aperitivo" and, in any case, the place is really nice in the ancient part of Cernobbio.
The menu was very attractive and next time we shall have the lunch there.

We booked our Reservations (highly recommended) at Trattoria del Glicine based on TripAdvisor reviews and seconded by the concierge at Villa d'Este. We were not disappointed. We had delicious steak tartare and zucchini blossoms for starters, pasta with duck and the best pork shank that I have ever had anywhere for our main courses. The ambiance was upscale and yet relaxed. The service was helpful including excellent recommendations for food and wine. The prices were modest. And the food was some of the best we had in a three week trip in Italy. Highly recommended

Cuisine Tuscany in family environment. Careful selection of raw materials. Specialty with porcini mushrooms and black and white truffles. Meat is IGP certified. Please make a reservation. Dogs are welcome!
We came here following a recommendation from our hotel's receptionist. We were the only tourist around...
The restaurant decor is rather plain, but the food was excellent!
We had a wonderful traditional Tuscan Ribolita soup, and then we had fresh pasta with truffles and a wonderful steak.
Small place packed with local- great food indeed!

Kitchen restaurant is the fine dining option for all ones are looking for a revised Italian cuisine in a sophisticated yet informal atmosphere opened onto the green. Executive Chef: Francesco Soletti
We had beef tartare, shrimp scampi, black cod, turbot, and tiramisu, coconut/caramel for dessert. All portions are proper for medium Americans that come in hungry. The beef tartare was exquisite with a bit of muted sweetness and flavorful pistachio pesto. The shrimp scampi with foie gras was light, but very flavorful. The black cod (not black in color) was cooked to perfection and when combined with the white bean mousse produced a rich, but delicate experience. The turbot was excellent with delicate asparagus, fava beans, chanterelles mushrooms. The tiramisu is much improved from the traditional (biscuit) ...frozen creme fresh, granulated cacau chocolate and cappuccino sauce. The caramel and coconut combination
was delightful with intense caramel and delicate coconut undertone. Also try the Mirto aperitif to end your experience.....chocolate undertone with light cherry flavor.

The online booking system is excellent.
It is hard to find fault with our experience here: enjoyable meal, friendly and efficient service, views of the lake and reasonable prices (for this expensive area). And yet it wasn't a particularly memorable dining experience. I can't help feeling that more could be made of the location; sitting outside on the Terrace felt more appropriate for a morning coffee than for fine dining (we could have chosen the almost empty dining room of course). Would return though.

Great staff! Helpful, friendly and all around charming. To start with we ordered pasta with porcini mushrooms, risotto with mushrooms and the capresi salad. For main course, shrimp with black rice, the sea bass and spaghetti with sauce and Lake Como trout. The most amazing dish.... The risotto was the best I have ever had. The prices are very reasonable.

This has been the best gnocchi I tried and the salads and the Deserts are amazing. Generous dish sizes and fresh ingredients are a deadly combination in any restaurant. It can be very crowded but that's ok if you have a reservation.

Many who visit Como prefer to stay in Cernobbio, who is less hectic and less expensive. There is a ferry that runs every half hour to Como, so no parking, no hassle.
In Cernobbio is a wonderful authentic family italian restaurant with good quality food deliciously prepared in a casual atmosphere. The schnitzel was as good as the one at that famous place in Vienna!
Risotto was authentic, as was the polenta.
All made to order, piping hot and served by a friendly staff.
We were very disappointed it was closed our second night, Monday, because we would have gone back.
