I adore Asian food. After Reading many excellent reviews I was looking forward to visit this very popular Chinese restaurant in Moste, about half an hour away from Ljubljana.
The service was very friendly, we especially liked talking to the very hospitable owner.
The food, however, was unfortunately far from Chinese.
We tried to order several dim-sums, but we were discouraged by the waiters who told us it would take forever to get them during very busy hours in a crowded restaurant.
We ordered their special Hong Kong spring rolls and the mixed plate. The spring rolls were rather dull and a bit burnt. There was only fried food on the mixed plate. The won-tons were inedible, the tempura was OK and the spring rolls were burnt. There was also some shrimp chips. We did like the cabbage.
The lettuce and the cucumber salads were both perfect.
We did like the beef in black pepper sauce and the Mongolian chicken.
But, the rest of the food was unfortunately barely edible.
The duck was beyond dry and the accompanying vegetables were completely tasteless.
Spicy eggplant is one of my favourite Chinese dishes. Here, the eggplants were fried and drowned in the same tasteless vegetable sauce as the duck. There was not a trace of a chilly in the dish.
Probably the worst dish was the spicy stir-fried asparagus. The asparagus was neither spicy not stir fried. Otherwise nice pieces of asparagus were cooked in a transparent gelatin-like sauce with no taste at all.
I must say that the owners are trying hard. They are very friendly, the portions are very generous and the place is very clean. Also, the prices are reasonable.
But, they try too hard to satisfy the average Slovenian taste. By doing so they completely destroy several most delicious Chinese dishes.

This place serves only "kruhki" which is their speciality. Kruhki come in several different editions and every single of them is worth trying.
Staff is really nice, always here to help you. Service is quick, but place is usually full so I recommend Reservations or you may wait quite a lot.

A lot of different types of fast food, a lot to choose. Tasty portions and fast service. Nice personal. Not such a great ambient, but with a nice burger everything comes arround.

Ančka is the place where you can not make a wrong order. Everthyng tastes good. Best known for traditional Slovenian štruklji. Not a fancy restaurant, but a great traditional "gostilna" for a sunday lunch or saturday dinner.

We ate here twice whilst staying at the guesthouse. Incredibly fresh, tasty and exquisitely presented. A good mix of foods on the menu, local dishes too. They are quite happy to adapt to you requirements too which I always think shows the sign of a professional kitchen. Highly recommend.

You have some signs but it is easy to miss the local inn between very narrow streets in the village. Later you will find a parking for a dozen of cars. When you enter you will be in a hall separated in some smaller places – not a perfect architecture. It is warm inside and staff is very friendly. You can ask what they propose or stay with old well known list from vegetable soup or a broth and later order potatoes and meat; different kinds and different styles. Range of desserts is not very inventive but they are fresh and abundant. You get what you expect from such inn with long tradition.

Place is Balkan mixture near the bridge over Kokra river. No name architecture, no name design and improvisation with inscriptions in German and mixture of other languages. Improvisation with good food is not enough. It can easily be changed to better restaurant with some better design and some Slovene titles. We don’t expect Carniolan sausages but some respect when we visit this place.

Dvor Jezersek Gostilna continues the rich and distinctive heritage of typical Slovenian restaurants, in terms of space, equipment, and the rich offer of dishes and drinks. Local, seasonal and regional dishes are prepared in a modern and sophisticated way, still preserving Slovenia's culinary heritage.
Don't leave Slovenia without visiting this destination restaurant in a small farm town near the Ljubljana airport. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed, so you may not realize you are dining at one of the country's Top 20 culinary restaurants, dedicated to the authentic tastes of Slovenia. Chef Luka Jezeršek is one of the hosts of Master Chef Slovenia, and great cooking runs in his family. Yet there is nothing pretentious about this place, including the prices which are a tremendous value for the quality. I enjoyed the herb soup, which had had a whole Literary tradition behind it. My son ordered the bočnik, which I immediately recognized as the Sunday dish we used to call "stringy meat" when my mom made it. The desserts are stellar. You'll share the charming patio with Slovenes celebrating special occasions as kids play happily nearby. Top notch service from Jan and Luka.

Convenient parking and location in industrial zone. We have ordered T-bones, rather chewy and kind of over matured. Bellow average. However they have nice simpler food on the menu, and zacala rum. Staff is nice and able but the overall performance is average. We are managing troubles with our supplier and we are very sorry for your bad experience. Hope to you see you again!
