The bustling port city of Castries is St. Lucia's capital. Shoppers flock to the city's dozens of stores and to Castries Market for fruits, vegetables and handicrafts. Sightseers admire murals painted by a local artist inside Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, and relax in Derek Walcott Square, named for the St. Lucian Nobel-prize-winning poet. Atop Morne Fortune (Hill of Good Luck) - where the French and English battled over control of the island - visitors take in panoramic vistas.

We went for the varied menu and the entertainment. The food was good and pkentiful. The floor show was excellent. The service was slow and we had to repeat several times. There was a mix up in the order and a mistake made on our bill both of which were dealt with satisfactorily

We saved the best ‘til last! We ate out most nights during our holiday in St Lucia and the Big Chef Steakhouse (please change the name!) was easily the best in the Rodney Bay Area. As described in many posts, the Bruschetta is delightful. Fish and seafood specialties restaurant on water front at Vigie Cove, Chef Xavier Ribot has lead this charming restaurant for 15 years offering french and Caribbean cuisine.
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at a local favorite, the Coal Pot. Seated feet from the clear lagoon, we enjoyed the pumpkin soup, Dorado fish lunch and today’s feature—a trio of their specialties. All were excellent. We would definitely recommend it, and the servers were most pleasant. Located close to the port where our ship was docked.

Having got ourselves to Castries by local bus, we found a taxi driver to take us up the mountain to The Pink Plantation. The core of the house is a century and a half former cocoa plantation. The balcony forms the restaurant with a stunning view over Castries towards Rodney Bay and Martinique on a clear day. And on a showery day, it’s fascinating to sit and watch the changing weather patterns.
We made two lunchtime visits to the restaurant during our time on St. Lucia and the food did not disappoint. Always a good sign when each member of the group selects a different meal and everyone is happy. Service was attentive and unhurried.
One suggestion, check opening hours as they are not the same every day.

Spice of India, currently rated as number one restaurant in St Lucia, is a sophisticated Indian restaurant situated in the heart of Rodney Bay. Owner and Restaurateur Chef Adil has travelled across the Atlantic Ocean creating scintillating dishes to satisfy the palates of eager patrons throughout the Caribbean. Along with his sous chefs, Chef Adil has brought the modern Indian style of cooking based on ancient tandoor techniques to Saint Lucia. Get a feel for India in the uniquely designed restaurant, and succumb to the wiles of fine dining. Also newly opened waterfront restaurant at Capella Marina in Marigot Bay---MASALA BAY--serving Indian and Indo Chinese fusion cuisine.
After Reading great reviews, we knew we had to try the Spice of India. We were extremely satisfied and our expectations were exceeded. The staff were amazing and made us feel welcome and really special. We were given lemongrass scented towels for our hands before our meal. The menu is huge - there is something for everyone.
We had the crab meat bonda and fresh garlic naan with melted cheese. I am allergic to fish (which is often substituted for crab) and the server made sure it was, without a doubt, crab in the dish. I really appreciated this. It is clear the staff care about the guests and allergies/food sensitivities. I am drooling thinking about the garlic naan with melted cheese. It was so good.
We were brought a complimentary appetizer from the chef after our first appetizers.
I had the prawn malabari, which had bell peppers, tomatoes, basmati rice, and coconut cream all perfectly blended with a variety of spices. We had the deep fried chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert, which was recommended by our server. It was AMAZING. We were then brought a complimentary dish of candy coated anise seeds.
This restaurant is amazing. The staff go above and beyond to make you comfortable and ensure you enjoy the best meal in Rodney Bay. Highly recommend.

We are a french Restaurant and we also have four rooms that guests are welcome to book.
This little restaurant in Rodney Bay suited us well. The staff were really friendly from the start and that encouraged us to stay for dinner. The place had a rustic, casual feel and the food was good. Th only disappointment was the the profiteroles were a bit dull and limp. No complaints about the prices - excellent value for money.

My girlfriend and I ate here three times during a recent stay at nearby Ti'Kaye Village resort in Anse Cochon. This restaurant is close by the turnoff for Marigot Bay on the Castries-Soufreire highway, so if you are staying in that area, by all means don't miss it.
We decided to eat there after seeing a crowd of locals during lunch time - always a good sign. We were rewarded for doing so. During our times there, we had a delicious beef soup, fish steak, grilled mahi mahi and Creole shrimp. All were outstanding. The potato salad is perhaps the best I've ever had, and I grew up in the American South. The entrees were extremely reasonable, as we ended up paying roughly $15 per dish including tip.
We talked with Monique, the owner, who we found very warm and welcoming. She was a manager at Sandals in Castries for 14 years before opening this restaurant. We're glad she did. It is well worth the trip.

The title of my review summarizes our experience. Ordered the ribeye steak, which was thin as can be - half as thick as it should have been, and twice as expensive. The waitress wasn't ecstatic to serve us, and it took a really long time for this mediocre food to come.

Harry, Matilda and Carmen gave excellent white glove silver service. The menu was varied and they happily accommodated changes to the dishes. The courses arrived quickly and was beautifully presented. A pleasant, air conditioned setting. Booking is mandatory.
