We took the short walk from our Hotel Silbernagl to this delightful little place. With the gigantic Mountains as the backdrop, the hotel was cute, clean, done in traditional wood. The waiter was helpful, however, they spoke no English. So we had fun ordering. We had Beef Goulash, potatoes, Wienershnitzel, pork and Apple Strudel. The food was all good, not fancy , but good German/Austrian food. I can certainly recommend it as a good place to eat.

I could watch them making the food in the kitchen and it was quite a show! They are utterly effective and make some very creative looking dishes. The food was good, but an inside table is hard to get.

The elegant service you would expect in a casual chalet style surrounding. From the amuse bouche through the chocolate degustation, everything was constructed with incredible craftmanship. You have 3 degustation menus to choose from but ultimately you can mix and match and order fewer dishes. While some plates were maybe a tad below (my very high) expectations (meat dishes in general), the overall experience was wonderful and the price value exceptional.

No loud music, not too many people, not the best view, but everything ok. Service is very fast and accurate. The food good, but nothing special. Maybe it depends, what you are having. Lasagna 10 eur, Frankfurter sausage with potatoes and boiled cabage -12,5 euro, bombardino drink 4,5 euro.

This was our first time hiking in the Alpe di Siusi and our first experience with rifugios. Let me start out by saying that they are much nicer than we had imagined and certainly as good and comfortable as any regular restaurant despite being somewhat remotely located. That said, Rauch Hutte is located on the main road through the Siusi but you could do much, much worse than eating here after a morning or entire day of hiking. My wife and I had an incredible lunch here, she having ordered sautéed mushrooms and the Tyrolian classic spinach/bacon dumpling, candeleri, while I also had the dumplings but accompanied by deer goulash. Both were excellent, filling, and hearty. I would rank this meal as in the top 3 of the many we had on our 12-day trip through northern Italy.
Service was great and pleasant and the interior decoration definitely reminded you of where you were and the beautiful environment outside. Highly recommended!

Huge portions of good food.. Mostly alpine cuisine. The pork shank was fabulous. Ten minute drive out of Castelrotto on an easy road. They don't speak much English but there is an English menu. Good service and nice view

Located in the Hotel of the same name
We were staying at one of the central hotels and this restaurant was on their sheet of recommended restaurants. It was no more than a minute from the central tower in the town.
The restaurant staff were very friendly and showed us to a table in the front of the restaurant (there was another section at the back where the salad buffet was situated.
The interior was as you would expect in the region - rather grand with wooden panel walls.
Originally we decided not to have a starter but then we noticed the salad buffet for €4.90 so we all went for that. It's worth having for getting to use the novel tomato slicer alone!
The mains were all lovely - I had the lamb rack and so did my son and our friends had the venison and rump steak. All were perfectly cooked with a good accompaniment of vegetables. Presentation on the plate demonstrated the chefs capability.
So overall we had an excellent meal and would certainly go back again.

Pleasant restaurant and café located above Castelrotto amongst old Tyrolean farms, barns and beautiful pastures. Unpretentious and welcoming. Nice outdoor Terrace overlooking the whole valley. Tyrolean as well as Italian specialties simply but nicely done, with generous portions, and nice desserts. Tyrolean live music on some evenings.
