Riad Bleu Afriqua, your reward for reatching the far end of the gorge is a generous local- speciality lunch: salads with mountain herbs, meaty berber tajines with locally grown walnuts and fruits, and platters of valley- grown fruit.
I've had the pleasure of watching Riad Bleu Afriqua evolve over the past four years. I'm continually impressed by the way the Ainabi family transforms local resources into bountiful Moroccan feasts, transportive musical experiences, and comfortable stays.
Not only do they share the best of the Amazigh culture of the High Atlas Mountains, they also enjoy learning from the many travelers passing through. They strive to accommodate their guests in any way they can.
My favorite meal at Riad Bleu Afriqua is the chicken tagine with almonds and raisins, and a steamy glass of Moroccan mint tea. I love to sit on the lower Terrace and enjoy the meal as I trade stories with Hussein and Brahim, and watch the clouds go by!
I highly recommend visiting to the Dades Gorge, and stopping at Riad Bleu Afriqua is a must!

We stayed here recently on Christmas Day evening. The room was fine and there was a heater we could turn on which was great as we had been cold in our other hotels. The food was just ok and they did not provide a vegetarian option as I don't think anyone had informed them but they went out of their way to make me an omelette - first time I have had omelette as my Christmas Day meal too so that was a first! The showers were hot and the breakfast good.

We were here 2 times when we traveled to desert and back. Really tasty cakes . I was surprised i found here energy drink i really needed :DD . Not easy to find energy drinks outside big cities. Ideal place for short stop before driving to Dades Gorges.

We stayed here in February and the food was delightful. So lovely to look over the valley while having a delicious breakfast. Wonderful people as well, of course. It was cold in the evening but they had a heater going in the dining room to keep us toasty warm while enjoying another yummy meal.

We stayed in the Hotel Xaluca Dades overnight, and the hotel restaurant was the logical choice for dinner. The dining room is expansive with plenty of room to spread out. The buffet is interesting with multiple hot or cold dishes, and a staff member is there constantly making sure all looks right on the buffet. One employee in particular was very helpful making suggestions about what to eat or not to eat.
The choices ranged from beef to chicken to lamb. Couscous was quite good, and the assortment of salads hot and cold were lovely. Though, there was nothing really out of the ordinary, the food was well-prepared.
I also took breakfast here and loved the Moroccan pancakes with honey and butter. The omelets were pre-made of eggs and cheese, and there were lots of breads and cakes to choose from. Very nice selection.
Enjoy.

We didn't expect a meal as good as most French restaurants all the way out there and in such a gorgeous setting. We had a great dinner and breakfast there.

We went to Chef Hassan on the recommendation of our hotel manager; when we said we wanted something other than Moroccan food. Le Basilic is a small nondescript place with 2-3 tables in a clean and basic environment. Hassan cooks everything from scratch, and so...MoreCher monsieur A big thank you for giving your time to write your comment it gives me pleasure I hope to see you very soon Hassan

This small family run hotel and restaurant is absolutely wonderful. The brothers and father were so welcoming and helpful. They also arranged the guests to dress in Berber outfits and join them singing and playing traditional instruments. Wonderful Berber hospitality. So warm. So helpful.

We cordially invite you to our restaurant at riad dades. It combines tradition with modernity in an exceptional way. Its interior is unique because fragments of old walls have been preserved with its berber decor. We mainly serve traditional moroccan cuisine vegetarien vegan mediteranienne and add variety to our menu according to the season.
Highly recommend the food at Riad Dades if you happen to be in the area. They serve local Moroccan delicacies which was very well done at very affordable price.

My husband and I stayed at the auberge during our visit and we also had most of our meals here. We really enjoyed the food and all the dishes we tried were tasty and much better than your typical restaurant fair. Highly recommend to eat here if you are visiting the gorge. Or even better, stay with the family as well!
