Sited perpendicularly to the main Bodmin to Wadebridge Road, we are approximately 2 miles from Bodmin and 5 miles from Wadebridge. Very much the traditional country pub, no loud music, pool or darts we encourage conversation and interaction between customers. Dog friendly in the bar area, we serve food throughout the pub, from the dining room to the easy chairs by the open fireplace and outside on the patio, the orchard and to the benches by the hedge. Besides a full menu we have several Specials Boards and our famous Carvery.
Having suffered the snow earlier in the week and local supermarkets having little fresh produce available, we plumped for having Sunday lunch out. The Borough Arms is a twenty minute or so drive for us and as we drove into the very full car park...MoreThank you for leaving us this fantastic review. We are thrilled our staff were able to accommodate to you such a high standard during our busy period. We hope to see you back again in the near future.

Woods Cafe is a beautiful cottage cafe in the middle of Cardinham Woods. Open all year round, we serve warming home-made stews and soups in the winter and doorstop sandwiches with an ever changing specials menu throughout the summer. The cream teas are fantastic and the cakes are always fresh. We try to use local produce and suppliers where possible.
After exploring Cardinham Woods, our family stopped off at the woods cafe for lunch, and were completely satisfied! The food is all freshly prepared, and the menu is varied. I enjoyed the freshly prepared soup, with a big chunk of bread. My wife ordered off the specials board...a bacon and sweet corn chowder which was delicious. My parents absolutely loved the savoury cream tea. This is genuinely one of the best lunches I’ve had in a country park or similar, and it was very reasonably priced.

And the good news is that where possible, everything is made from only the very best, fresh local Cornish produce. With its cosy dog friendly bars, huge roaring log fires and sloping beamed ceilings, The Old Inn & Restaurant is Cornwall's highest Inn and is situated in the moorland village of St Breward, best known for its granite quarries, breathtaking views, rich history and roaming ponies.
Called in here this afternoon for Sunday lunch and it was excellent. Chose the 2 meat selection, which was a very generous portion. Lovely roasties and choice of veg and Yorkshire puds. The restaurant is comfortable and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Was very busy though and we had to park quite a distance away. Staff friendly. Lovely clean toilets too. Only downside was the several smokers standing in the porchway, so we had to walk through a wall of smoke going in and the same going out. We are on holiday so may try it in the week when it’s less busy. Apart from the smokers, I would highly recommend.

We first came here in 2012, but my how it's changed! The restaurant part is very different, but atmospheric and contemporary in style with a lovely, and very welcome, log burner. The service was very good and the food was delicious. The hake was cooked to perfection. I would return in a heartbeat.

We ate lunch here after a family event and the food, service and atmosphere were excellent. I cannot comment on the rooms as we did not stay overnight, but the hosts were friendly and welcoming, and we would certainly consider staying there another time.

I came in rather early and ordered an espresso, turned out to be a bit on the cold side and asked for assistance. The waitress was brilliant, apologised and redeemed the order with an excellent espresso. Great little place and deserves a visit.Thank you for your kind comments. Apologies for the cold coffee but I am glad you mentioned this to our staff and even more pleased you were happy with the response. I will pass your comments on.

The food was lovely...we went on a Tuesday when they have there set meal offer and it is such great value! The services wasn’t great but I think it may have just been due to how busy it was as the service is usually good! I will definitely being back for the food!

This is a pub of the main road but you need to visit.
The menu which is vast, is exceptional food and value.
It is all home made and of the highest quality.
At £17.00 I had the best beef Wellington, roasted vegetables and dauphinoise potatoes and jus I've ever had.
Lemon sole and chicken Satay and homemade soup was excellent.
Visit and you will be a regular.
