The Blue Mountains are named for the delicate azure haze that lingers along the region, which is actually a fine cloud of oil emitted by eucalyptus trees. The mystical mountains are a labyrinth of plateaus, gorges and gum trees. Check out the Katoomba Scenic Railway (the steepest railway in the world), the Jenolan Caves and the Giant Staircase nature walk.

We had dinner in this atmospheric restaurant. The place and the staff who made it a special night were excellent. Matched by the food and wine of the highest standard. Since 1994 Silk's Brasserie has been the go-to restaurant for quality dining on the Blue Mountains. Warm attentive service and great food set the standard. Open 7 days for both lunch and dinner, bookings are always recommended and often essential. (Check for public holidays, we're not always open.)
We had lunch here during a tour of the Blue Mountains area. A pretty interior. Because we were on a tour and schedule we were given the abbreviated tour menu and the choices were okay, but the regular menu had many more interesting items. We thought the service would be good and prompt given the welcome, but unfortunately, the service deteriorated as the meal went on. We all ordered easy and quick menu items, but there were a handful of large parties ordering off the regular menu and things really dragged for us. Our guide came back after an hour and figured we would be having dessert and we had not yet gotten our main course. The starters were good, but the main course really lacked much flavor. A very average meal with less than average service unfortunately for us.

Owners Nathan (Chef) and Tayla (Maitre D) have taken a new and exciting approach to this heritage cottage by providing memorable food and atmosphere. Lochiel House offers an Australian A La Carte menu with heavy Asian Influences. We are about have good fun with honest food. We use as much produce from our very own kitchen garden as well as sourcing locally.
The reviews on TripAdvisor weren’t wrong. This place is amazing. I couldn’t really fault the place. The atmosphere was great. The food was great. The people were great. We had the sourdough and even the bread was amazing. I kid you not, I could just eat that bread for dinner until I was full. We also had the pot stickers and gnocchi for entrees and they were both amazing. Then we had the fish and beetroot pappadelle for mains and they were amazing too. The only thing that made me sad was that I was so full I could try the coconut sticky rice. But we are definitely coming back again. I cannot wait to try everything on the menu haha.
And the owner Taylor is lovely. We didn’t get to meet Nathan but I so wish I could be friends with them and the chefs so we could have getogethers... where they cook of course haha. The wait staff were super friendly too.
Definitely stop here folks and try the amazing food.

Service was good.
Ordered smoked chicken Sandwich (AUD11). Was expecting real chicken meat but it turned out to be chicken spam/bacon.
Washrooms are available.

Thanks Trip Advisor. You were right about Lily’s Pad. Great place with terrific food and service. Although it is a little bit off the Main Street it is well worth the effort to find it. Really enjoyed the breakfast here.

Came here recently for brunch. It's in a convenient location and was pretty busy. The food was delicious and the coffee was pretty good. We got the eggs benedict, the baked dish and the vegan dish. Great find, would come back again. It's cash only.

This is a tiny restaurant in the back of a car park in Blaxland. The food is exquisite but expensive $130pp or $175pp with wines.
It is very popular and was fully booked when we went. So a bit on the cramped side.
The food is wonderful, first class, although you can't choose. So if there is something you don't like it makes it more expensive. The service is friendly and attentive.
The toilet is outside the restaurant and not very nice.
We enjoyed ourselves but I think it's overpriced. For that price I would expect a lot more.

When we created Palette Dining, our ambition was to produce a menu that was not limited by geography or defined by a single culinary style. Modern Australian cuisine is an amalgam of cultures and styles and our food reflects & embraces that vast breadth of influence. Our menu whilst global in inspiration is local in provenance. Seasonal and balanced, our food reflect the bounty of the Mountains and the best of what is available at any given time from our growers and suppliers.
Stayed in Katoomba - and didn't give much thought to dinner. Booked into Palette on the drive from Sydney, and ended up eating the nicest meal and having the loveliest service I have had in a long time.
The prawns for entree are a must try. I don't like shellfish, but I had some of my partners dish - and was really impressed by the fresh flavours. Had a salmon dish and confit chicken for main. Both were really tasted. Everything was fresh and lovingly prepared.
But what topped it off was the service. The waiter who served us was wonderful. So knowledge about the menu, and the wine. Friendly. Happy to serve. I overhead the service from the other staff member, and it sounded much the same. A relaxed pace of service, but the attitude of staff made it a welcome pace and made for a great evening.

Modern Australian cuisine, using FRESH local produce! Catered for all people including Gluten Free and Paleo options.
Super friendly efficient staff. 5 stars for customer service alone! But my coffee was perfect, scrambled eggs fluffy, toast buttery and bacon crisp too. Good range of veg options and Gf. Zucchini n Haloumi stack generous and delicious. A little treasure in Windsor.Hi JTC_12, Thank you for the lovely write up. We love when our customers are satisfied and happy.
