Visited Cavistons for lunch last week. They do a great set menu for €21 for 2 courses. We had sardines, followed by cod and haddock. All beautifully cooked and presented. Dessert was a shared chocolate and raspberry brownie (delicious!!). Will have to return to try their dinner menu. Lovely cosy restaurant with nice friendly staff.

Rasam Restaurant excels at serving consistent quality food served in a creative but authentic Indian style. We pride ourselves on our fresh ingredients including Indian spices that are mixed, roasted & ground daily at Rasam Restaurant. We very much consider hospitality to be much more than just a social formality. Visit us and enjoy the dishes we present with great pride.
We went for an early bird on 5th December. Rasam has such a reputation that I was looking forward to the experience. I don’t know exactly what I was looking for but I couldn’t understand what the hype was about . Our local Indian restaurant is as good without the hype.In fact there are many Indian restaurants in Ireland just as good.
In saying that the food was very good but not extraordinary.

On another visit to Dun Laoghaire, had to pop into Hartley's again. It appears to have gained quite a following - very well dressed clientele, lovely ambience and the food looked amazing.
You receive a very warm greeting, which is always a good thing. The wine list is excellent, but the food was stunning. We booked a meal but unfortunately had to cancel as family had organised a gathering at their home - lovely - but I am definitely having dinner on the next visit. At the front, for warmer weather, is a beautiful outdoor area overlooking the harbour. This attracts families during the day and the beautiful and well-to-do in the evening, very elegant.

This popular restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You will find seasonal Italian-inspired menus paired with a stunning sea view, alongside a beautiful bar. Haddington House began its journey as Oliveto and you’ll see from the quality and freshness of what they serve that food is still at the forefront of what they do.
My finance and I visited this restaurant before we moved out of the area. We had a voucher and wanted to avail of it fully! We ordered a sharing platter to start and it was really tasty. We then got steaks and dessert and cocktails and all were very nice indeed. The place was really busy and had a good buzz. Nice Italian if you're in the area.

From Georgina Campbell's Ireland GuideThis restaurant has been Ireland’s benchmark Chinese restaurant for two generations, and is a previous recipient of this award. It should in perhaps be named The Phoenix as, not long after moving to new premises, this family-owned favourite closed last winter and appeared to be a victim of the recession. Then, to the delight of its many fans, it reopened in the summer of 2010 after a six month hiatus. And, to a collective sigh of relief, it soon transpired that its modern interpretations of classic Sichuan cuisine are better than ever: classic dishes like tea smoked duck have been tweaked and given updated presentation by the brigade of young chefs who are reinterpreting traditional Sichuan and Cantonese cuisine with modern style. A special section of "Chef's Recommendations" highlights the kitchen's authentic Sichuan dishes based on centuries old recipes – and well-versed servers explain dishes and their ingredients, offering to tone down the amounts of chilli oil, Sichuan pepper and hot oil, if requested. The layout of the modern dining room has been improved too - and, on fine days, the glass frontage opens onto an inviting outdoor Terrace with umbrella tables and Seating.
13:15 Tuesday in March.
Just up from the Luas stop. First time here.
Seated immediately. Drinks offered next, then the menu order was taken.
One spare rib (large portion arrived!) one very nice mushroom dish......dried with wassabi (very nice).
One boiled rice, one noodles (€2.40 extra), one prawn in black bean sauce, and one pork in ginger sauce. Both mains were exceptionally well flavoured. Not the soupy run of the mill chinese restaurant. Exceptionally flavoured. The Pork dish wad huge!
Two chinese beers. All for €44.50 (see the photo). Really very, very good.
We will return and start trying the rest of the lunch menu. Then we wil start on the a la carte.
We will be back next week.
Check it out .... recommended. Probably the best oriental restaurant in Dublin.

Modern Irish restaurant showcasing the best of Irish produce. Hidden away in the heart of Dublin 4. Unusually only open Thursday-Saturday inclusive from 6pm. In a throw back to the concept of the original fixed table d'hote menu our chefs develop an original menu each week offering a choice of three starters, one meat, fish main & vegetarian main course and a dessert or cheese board for €49. Mulberry garden is also available for Private and Corporate Hire every day of the week.
Booked the restaurant after our son have visited.
Checked-menu and found it very limited and hoped I’d like the food.
Arrived early and went upstairs and we waited the fire and had some drinks, great atmosphere to start.
Went downstairs for dinner and all I can say is
OMG
Simply fantastic, can’t say anything else. Best meal I’ve had in some time, attached is the menu.
Will return and return, already planned the next visit.
Great staff, great food and great place
You have to go.

Avoca Monkstown is unique, being our only location that exclusively features food. With a large Food Market and separate SALT cafe, you’ll find a whole new range of food experiences in one spot. In addition to the familiar Avoca foodhall offering, the Monkstown Foodmarket offers top quality fresh fruit and vegetables, our very own Avoca Butcher, and a French-style rotisserie from Poulet Bonne Femme. SALT cafe continues Avoca’s emphasis on serving delicious, seasonal dishes with locally sourced ingredients.
Very attentive service and attention to detail. Enjoyed the unexpected offering of a small tasting of the delicious cauliflower soup. Thoroughly enjoyed the vegetarian option of feta and pumpkin fritters with interesting and very tasty accompaniments. Would definitely recommend for a pleasant evening with delicious food. Will be back during the day to shop in the food hall and for a meal next time in Ireland.

We had dinner here last week and it was all so lovely, great calamari followed by lovely baked hake and great vegetables and a creme brulee to finish with good coffee. It was my first visit and it really exceeded my expectations, everything we got was delicious. The staff are attentive and friendly. We had the early bird and shared a started and dessert so it was good value too.

Enjoyed a stirfry and a pint at this restaurant, owner was friendly and food was good with large serves. Menu being changed over so what was listed outside was a bit different inside, but was not a problem. Recommended.

What a charming little spot. Lovely eclectic decor, gorgeous eggs benedict . Such a pity the coffee tasted burnt and that they don't have any green juices / smoothies. But nice place for a loungy long lunch ?
