I have eaten at many of the best restaurants in the world, as judged by Michelin, Pelligrino, Zagat etc and sought this one out because of a recommendation from a trusted food journalist friend.
I have to say that, whilst the service was sometimes a bit under-polished (I think we had a new waiter who was still getting to grips with the place) the food was mind-bogglingly, palate-orgasmically great. The flavour combinations, quality of ingredients and craftsmanship were flawless. It was artistry which elevated our group to that rare elevated state of mind, knowing one has just had their senses tantalisingly blown open and irrevocably changed. I would go so far to say that this was one of the top two meals I have ever eaten. Anywhere, ever. I am amazed that this place doesn't feature on more of the world's best restaurant lists, and can only attribute this to the fact that it is not so easy to find, in an out-of-the way small and unassuming part of the world.
We went the next day to the smaller restaurant run by the same couple, which serves more traditional German food, and it too was superb. But if you are travelling to Germany and live for great food, don't miss the experience of eating at the 'Zur Alten Post' fine diner... It has set a new benchmark for my fussy, particular and usually harshly critical self!

We were staying at the Nürburgring for a race and were searching on Trip Advisor for a proper good restaurant nearby. Found this one, the reviews were excellent and it didn't disappoint. Excellent food, beautiful place, and friendly service. Very recommended!

The menu is the same as a few months ago.Does the chef lack drive or inspiration? We ordered the same starters as previously: a shrimps with scallops dish. The shrimps were,in both startes, dramatically overcooked and tough: any gifted amateur would do rather better.
The main course,a venison stew, contained various pieces from different structure: some had been in thesdtew quite some time, other had been added recently. The different structure doesnot serve the dish well.Who is supervising the dishes that leave the kitchen, one wonders.
The service is friendly and swift, the winelist good.
My overall impression: too expensive for what it delivers and overrated. The chef seems to be losing touch.

The whole place looks like a mushroom house. The hobbits meet Alice in Wonderland. Pretty quirky. Food is very good, and rather massive. Service is friendly and warm - success did not harm the service quality at all. Would definitely come back - perhaps with more appetite than last time. The cake... is brilliant - just not after a massive Schnitzel.

Since 1974 in the heart of Bad Neuenahr, the ristorante "Milano da Gianni" is standing for an authentic, original italian food, high quality and fresh fish-, meat- and pasta dishes. The Nogarole family and the whole team from "Milano da Gianni" are happy about your visit.
When in Rome, the saying goes, do as the Romans do! The idea is that when in Germany eat German food in German restaurants, for a change we chose to eat Italian food for our anniversary and were well looked after by Hr Johann and we had very good authentic Italian food. Yes, you can eat budget piazza and pasta as well as typical restaurant fare. We liked it so much we went back two days later and were looked after by Roberta (I think) same high standard of food and service in a busy restaurant. better than Sale et Pepper in our opinion. We will be back.

Excellent familiy run restaurant serving German dishes around the clock. Specialties are savory pancakes and beef, but I was most fond of the various Schnitzels. Located in a typical ancient building.

Very little you will find an German restaurant with so much French influence then Pruemer Gang in Ahrweiler. The size of the portions, the kind of menu, the atmosphere. Even the way of serving (to cool) is French! The quality of the food is fantastic. From the winelist you'll have to try the red and white wines from the Ahr area (especially the red from winehaus Nelles or Jean Stodden). Fantastic! The atmosphere is modern, stylish and peaceful. When you want to try good and tastfull food (not typically big German portions), the best wines from Germany and a nice atmosphere you much visit this restaurant (also hotel) in the beautifull city of Ahrweiler!

Saisonal geöffnetes Weinrestaurant. Wir haben ab Mitte April bis Ende Juli und ab September bis 4. Advent unser Weinrestaurant geöffnet. Wir bieten regional, saisonale Winzerküche an.
Our visit at Kortgen's was the perfect end to a weekend away! The courtyard is fabulous - we had some wine & nibbles there before heading inside for our meal (which at ca. EUR 20 per head, including drinks was very reasonably priced). They serve traditional German cuisine - with something for everyone (e.g. light salads, bread & "Schmalz", Pretzels with sour cream dip, Bread & meat platters, "Flammkuchen" or more substantial choices such as Schnitzel, Steak or Fish). The food as well as the accompanying wines (or beers) were excellent and the service very friendly - a perfect place to enjoy a summer evening (and we imaging it to be equally cosy during the winter months). The only downside is, that it gets full really quickly - so you should definitely reserve in advance (although Reservations for the courtyard are not possible; here it's first come first serve) - and it can take a while before your main course arrives (it took over an hour for our mains to arrive - but nibbles are faster, so you don't have to starve while you wait). We'd definitely be back and can highly recommend the place!

We went to this Irish Pub to watch a footbal game outside. There is a good atmosphere, well placed tv screens and good sound. Service however was slow. Drinks were OK. We had no food, but folks around us seemed enjoying their meals.
