Bad Bentheim ( (help·info)) is a town in Lower Saxony, Germany in the district of Grafschaft Bentheim on the borders of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Netherlands roughly 15 km south of Nordhorn and 20 km northeast of Enschede. Cozy, home type, of restaurant where the Schnitzel is perfect and the prices are nice too
We ate here with the whole family and enjoined the Tipical German cuisine with German beer.
We went home with full bellies and had some money to spare
I would eat there again

Chef is a pretentious cook who is not even able to prepare a decent pasta dish as soon as guests have dinner included in their rate. When complaining about the poor quality of the food, we were not taken seriously by the staff. High level cuisine is reasonable, apart from some dreadful mistakes in balance and a few repetitions in taste and ingredients through the course of the menu. Presentation clearly is more important than the rest. And hospitality? Well, we think staff should better go back to school.

Planning a visit to our German part of the family in Lower Saxony I asked the them to book a restaurant for my partner and my anniversary. They chose their favourite nearby in Bad Bentheim.
What a great surprise.
Keilings was elegantly simple from the outside with a warm welcome awaiting us.
The service was impeccable and charming with the staff slipping easily between German and English to explain the menu to each of us. We opted for the 3 course menu although the top menu of 7 course looked to be a gastronomic treat.
A beautifully presented meal with exceptional textures and intense flavours ensued accompanied by a range of excellent wines from Keilings extensive cellar.
I won't describe each of our meals since the menu changes frequently but I can recommend that any vegetarian advise the chef in advance and leave him to create a menu for you. This is what our 'veggie' member of our family does each time she visits and is never disappointed.
A truly memorable visit and worth travelling to experience if you are anywhere near this area of Germany or Holland.

A close and long time family friend joined us at this restaurant and we had a wonderful meal. The krautsalad was especially good. We had spent the day at the Christmas Market in Bad Bentheim and were quite tired when we selected Der Grieche Restaurant. It was a great relaxing time.

We came here for a quick 'Grandfather Anton breakfast' which is 2 buns, various spreads (meat, cheese, marmalade, nutella, honey, a boiled egg and a coffee of choice.
The bread was fresh and tasty, and the selection of spread fine.
However the coffee wasn't very good, and had an odd aftertaste.
We did share this with the lady working at the counter, they apparently had just been working on the settings of the machine...it may need some more work.
With a good coffee this would be a great value deal at € 5.35
Tip: 2 hour free parking around the corner

Good service, with a sense of humour! Beatiful location beneath the Castle with some good beers and a great menu. The schnitzel was very good and also great value. The staff were friendly and efficient and the whole place had a good buzz to it with all ages eating there. Nothing to dislike as far as I am concerned and will happily return.

I can't bring myself to be enthusiastic about this restaurant because, though the atmosphere is pleasant and the service friendly, the food isn't up to scratch. The meat was OK (though over-spiced for my liking) but djuvec rice should contain vegetables, not just be coloured red with tomato paste. The salad was mainly sauerkraut, and those parts which should have been fresh had clearly been pre-prepared so that they were wilted and sad by the time they were served. I think the menu is too expansive so that attention isn't given to each dish as it should be.
We did get the free fruit and chocolate pudding (not everybody does, apparently), but I did feel that it was an attempt to take our minds off what had come before.
