not recommended! Very Nice and friendly serveur but Dish without flavor, little copious. Terrible bread! This bread is a real insult to French people!!!

The historical Inn "Zur Börse" is belonging to the small historical city-ensemble in Aurich. You reach it in a few minutes in the City-Center and you will be coddled by a fresh, delighting regional kitchen-style. In addition the Chef offers typical seasonal meals and tastes. Undepent if you have a drink only, a complete meal or a "sundowner" you always feel well and in a familiar & very friendly atmosphere. Come in and feel by yourself, how difficult it will be to leave again .......

We went to this restaurant shortly after it opened a few years ago and were not impressed with the cold service and mediocre food. We tried again, a number of months later and had the same experience. Recently we decided to give it another chance, thinking that over time comes experience and maybe, just maybe, things had improved. Things had indeed improved. We were very much impressed with the friendly service - totally opposite to the last two times some years ago.
The ambiance is sensational given the various styles this local has. When you come through the front door the layout has the feel of a Bavarian restaurant with its wooden pick-nick style chairs and tables. As you proceed through the next door you find yourself in a very comfortable, cozy area with stylish tables and chairs. Further into the restaurant you find yourself in the bar area which is very modern and, well, beautiful.
This restaurant has its own brewery which is definitely a big plus point. The food was not so impressive, however. We had the schnitzel with a mushroom sauce with potato wedges. We asked if they used ready made sauces and were assured that everything is freshly made and it was. The mushroom sauces was very good. The problem is that they doused the schnitzel with the sauce which made the breading soft and unappetizing. The taste of the breading was as if they had fried the schnitzel in old oil. It left a peculiar after-taste. The potato wedges were excellent.
We saw the server laying down plates with burgers at another table and boy-oh-boy did they look delicious. Our server told us that they even make their own pasta. So, this means we'll be trying this restaurant again. If ever we order the schnitzel again we'll be sure to ask them to put the sauce on the side and ask that they make sure that the oil is fresh but I think we'll try their other offers first.

Time to savour and enjoy. Take a seat in our restaurant with a view of the countryside and treat yourself to fine food. Our restaurant places particular importance on regional and seasonal products, local fish and game specialities and ingredients such as herbs from our own herb garden. We have received several awards for our cuisine. To complete your enjoyment, enjoy a fine drop of wine from our cellar. We have taken great care in selecting our wines. Although our focus is on German vines, international vineyards are also represented.

Restaurant Pittoresk is part of hotel Am Schloss and offers fine dining. The restaurant & hotel are located in Aurich centre next to the pedestrian area.
A nice atmosphere and good food define its character.
On a Saturday evening early December the establishment appeared busy. We had our apéritif and dined in the restaurant. Decoration and table decoration give the restaurant a most pleasant ambiance. Staffs are very correct and service is friendly and courteous.
The menu is traditional German. Nice food, well presented and tasty. We recommend restaurant Pittoresk to anyone who seeks good food in a nice atmosphere.
