If it's your first time visiting the Amalfi Coast, chances are you'll do a double-take the first time you see a roadside lemon stand. Yes, those are lemons, and yes, they are the size of your head. But despite their freakish appearance, you will grow to love these lemons because the locals use them to produce limoncello. And take it from us, there's nothing like a glass of limoncello as you gaze out at the sea from the balcony of your hotel in Amalfi. It's pretty much perfection.

Da Gemma was recommended to us on the first day of our weekend in Amalfi. We found it tucked a little away from the main street, up a flight of steps. The service was efficient and friendly, and the food so beautifully prepared (after an amuse-bouche, fish soup that was brimming with all kinds of seafood, followed by a selection of all things lemony) that we returned the next day without hesitation. It isn’t cheap (around 100€ for two, for two dishes and a glass of wine each) but well worth it for the high quality.

Visited this restaurant having read the reviews and was very disappointed.
In a nutshell, there was a limited menu, staff were lovely but I felt the chef must have been watching too many Food Network shows.
As a vegetarian I was expecting, from the reviews, there to be a selection of vegetarian dishes. There was one starter and one main course on the menu. When I asked if this was all, I was informed yes. No offer to do a simple pasta dish with say a tomato sauce or a pesto.
My husband ate seafood and said it was 'nice', the grouper was very good, small potion but tasty.
The meals were beautifully presented but tasted mostly mediocre. Nothing to remember them by except for the lack of food and overly complicated presentation.
Expensive for what it was.
Fantastic wine!

This restaurant was recommended as the best restaurant in Amalfi, he was right. This is a significant step up from the rather disappointingly narrow food choice available in the resort high streets pizza/pasta places of Amalfi and Sorrento, so expect to pay a little more. Highlights are the superb and extensive wine selection, Spaghetti in baking parchment paper with clams, olives, capers, fresh tomatoes and oregano, and the steamed seafood salad.
Run by a local family, we were picked up from Amalfi town by a very pleasant young man, part of the owning family, providing a FREE pickup service, absolutely superb.
I've mentioned some savoury courses but also don't miss one of the fish dish and even more, the sweets made by mama (or was it grand-mama...anyway), delicious!!
The restaurant itself is a delight, the service was warm, friendly, informative and fun.
Pay your money and go there, don't miss it!!

Atrani has a few restaurants around its small square that everybody sees, but walk a bit further up the main street under the clock tower/church until you reach this restaurant on the right hand side. Its easy to miss being set down a small low level entrance, particularly in the dark! Welcoming, wide range of dishes, a bit noisy but a great atmosphere. Its location and no outside dining or frontage probably stops many people finding it - don't be one of them :-)

We came here the first time because it was located right next to the apartment where we were staying. We didn't expect much, because our apartment was off the tourist area. We were very pleasantly surprised! Service was excellent, and so was the food. My spaghetti carbonara was so good I had it the second time we came here also. The bruschetta, which doesn't vary a great deal from restaurant to restaurant, was very good and very reasonable. My husband got the spaghetti puttanesca once, and a fish plate the second time we visited. This is a good restaurant for the money, and is away from the crazy Duomo area. Just follow the main road past the little stone village, and keep going until you're almost at the Paper Museum (also a good place to visit.)

We had a wonderful dinner here beachside. The lights were dim and the oceanview was perfect. The menu had all the Italian specials you want to try. The food was presented beautifully.

It’s been over a month since I’ve been back from Italy but I didn’t want to forget writing about the favourite dinner from our trip that we ended up having twice! The lemon pesto pasta was such an incredible and delectable flavour combination that my friends and I still talk about it, and the gnocchi can only be described as airy pillows of goodness. The food was so good that the next afternoon when we were strolling around Amalfi, we decided that instead of trying another restaurant we should immediately make another reservation at Apostoli; and we did! It’s also such a lovely cozy Terrace right next to the church, and Sarah our waitress was absolutely one of the nicest people we met, full of warmth and great recommendations on what we should order; thank you Sarah and come back to Canada soon! ;-)

The restaurant, an old archway-covered boat yard, recently completely refurbished, is situated in a quiet corner of ATRANI, like a pearl in its shell, at 20 metres from the beach and at five minutes walk away from the centre of Amalfi. Ristorante Le Palme - sala Atrani. The restaurant, recently praised in various newspapers and weekly magazines, offers to its clients traditional and revisited creations of Chef Armando. Seafood and fresh fish, spaghetti with mixed seafood, fresh pasta for lovers of genuine Italian food and delicious desserts are just some of the dishes that the restaurant The Palm offers its customers. To qualify all specialties we propose an attentive collection of local wines from our cellar. We’re best known for our delicious seafood, excellent wine and homemade pasta that will remain always in your mind.
The restaurant is small, with sitting closely set. Fortunately we were the first party for dinner and had the table by the entrance. Though facing the small parking lot, the feeling of openness remained good. Food wise was quite disappointed. Except for the seafood risotto, though not in the menu, was specially made on my wife's request was very very good. Other than that, the marinated fish, the grilled white fish and the fish in crazy water were all disappointed. When asked for a response, we honestly reflected that the meant to be fresh fish was too soft (we did not mention that it was tasteless as we didn't want to be too discouraging). Our comments were very negatively received. The price was on the high side among mid range restaurants. Sorry, not recommended.

We were staying in the village and recommended to the restaurant on our first night. A great find. Fresh, well cooked food. A charming host and excellent local rose wine. Over the 5 days we were staying we returned in several occasions sampling fish, meat & pizza. All of excellent standard. Thank you!

L'Abside italian Restaurant is situated in the centre of Amalfi, in the charming Piazza dei Dogi. L'abside is one of the most popular choices for tourists visiting the Amalfi Coast every year, both for the quality of its food and the professional and warm welcome given by the staff. We offer a selection of fresh local fish, meat and vegetable dishes on our menu, all excerpt from the "Mamma Gaetana's" recipes handbook.
We had our final dinner in Amalfi at this charming restaurant. Like many others we found the risotto with lemon and shrimp to be excellent, likewise the eggplant parmigiana. We ended with a shared Tiramisu that came in a lovely little pot - a different presentation. The Limoncello to finish off was delightful. Very good service. We were there at the start of the off-season and you could feel that the staff were finally able to relax a bit.
