This combined hotel+restaurant location comes with classy, tasty food and wholestic view across the valley
Rarely had such a great variety in fresh fruits at breackfast nor so many tasty items on the menue for lunch and dinner (e.g. Kalbshaxe, Rinderschulternahtl, Ossobuchi etc.)
We'll come back!

Charming probably pre-World War One restaurant in central Meran. The dining room is elegant with art nouveau touches and has well-separated tables, proper white linen table cloths and napkins and nice old cutlery. The large windows were open when we visited leaving the restaurant agreeably cool. The food was excellent, including the complimentary amuse-geueles of delicious 'liquid pizza'. We also really enjoyed the smoked mackerel and ravioli. Friendly efficient service from the multi-lingual wait-staff. Not cheap at €87.50 for two, but a very pleasant experience.

Visited twice, both times when they were cooking outdoors to order. Really friendly, good food, reasonable value, good location. All in all worth going, and worth returning. Probably our equal top restaurant location in Merano - from our trip at least!

We were here already in the afternoon with the whole family for a small bite with some wine and ham, in the evening we returned for dinner. Restaurant, next to our hotel in the wine Mountains has a nice Terrace with impressive view to Lagund und Merano. Food was nice, pasta and meat, with Italian and Austrian influence. Good wine card with mostly regional wines from local grapes. Staff was friendly and efficient. Prices were okay for what they offer.

The location is central, in walking distance (the entrance is at the end of the promenade). For cars, there is a safe and convenient parking next by in the courtyard. There are tables in and outside. Everything here was great. The service was great. The food was great (bruschetta, homemade gnocchi, thick homemade spaghetti). The wine was great. Where we sat was great. Like I said, everything was great. It was slightly pricey but very reasonable. You don’t get great for nothing. Plus, the city is great (better than Bressanone and a whole lot better than Bolzano). This is the shortest review I’ve ever written but what more can I say? It was great.

My girlfriend and I, along with her parents, were hiking in the region and decided to have a bit to eat at this restaurant/cafe. The worst decision of the entire trip. To begin with, the glass of wine that I ordered had a huge piece of cork in it (not to mention how scratched the glass was!). Then we ordered two warm meals and a salad. Normally, at a high class restaurant, all three meals are served at the same time. However, at this crappy place, the warm meals were served first, and the salad did not arrive until 45 minutes. The Turkey strips were undercooked, and when informed they took the salad back to re-cook the strips but they came back with no difference at all. Getting sick of the whole situation, we ended up not eating any of the salad and ordered the bill which came 30 minutes later. The waitress were super unfriendly and had to idea what is wrong with serving all meals 45 minutes apart.
I would never recommend this place to anyone. Stay away.

We celebrate my father's 75th birthday at Trenkerstube Restaurant in Hotel Castel last May. The settings are very nice and the staff is very professional. Food was excellent and everyone in our party was pleased from start to finish. They were very attentive to every detail and made sure my family had a wonderful and unforgettable experience in Tirolo.

We went to this restaurant with my husband's elderly parents and they were delighted. There were also many young people eating there. The food was presented so well and originally and tasted fantastic. They bake fresh bread samples that they supply with the meals, and we had a salad and little entre taster as a " gift from the kitchen"! The staff were very attentive and friendly. It was not cheap, but also not outrageously expensive. Quite a homely atmosphere where you can feel pretty comfortable.

Restaurant close to the brewery has a big and well attended Terrace. They have a good beer, varied and affordable wine card and rather extensive menu. Food is very Austrian, with a lot of meat. It's okay but not very special and not very cheap. Staff is efficient but they missed the personal touch. Food was there, shortly after we ordered it. At the end of the dinner the waiter offered a drink from the house. Good parking facilities.
