I used to live in Torreón many yeras ago, it was a pleasant surprise to find that right downton in an old building they set up this fantastic museum called Casa Arosena, it is an old mansión where the Arosena family used to live, i has the original furnishings, plus a new historical museum, it is a place you should visit if you go to Torreón.

Once you drive through the city and through the lower income Neighborhoods you get to the top. There is a few places to walk into and then a view of all Torreon. Really not much to look at and there are better things to do with free time

This used to be a canal that brought water into Torreon (Coahuila, Mexico).
Built in 1893, it was closed for security reasons and re-opened as a tourist place in 2014.
When in Torreon, you must go and visit it. It hosts an art gallery and mucho mas. (Much more)
For example, we sw a play for children the night we were there. Better, it was free.

This is the general area where the town of Toreon began. This is now (since 1993) a museum but it was originally built by the architect Federico Wulff for his family. This man was also responsible for several buildings in Torreon such as the Hotel Salvador, the Banco Comermex and many others. He was also the designer of the original plan of Torreon.
The Casa del Cerro has 15 rooms and a basement. At the foot of the building, two other construction (one of which was Federico Wulff’s office) are today used for expositions. We were fortunate to see one of paintings by Xavier Angel Kermedy and one of sculptures by Jose Luis Ponce Diaz.
This house was built for confort. No need of air conditionning for the construction was such that the circulation of air is sufficient to keep this house cool. Also, there are apertures in the floors for throwing dirty clothes don for cleaning by the servants.
The wood floors and ceilings as well as the wooden furniture are beautifull. The view from the top floor is fantastic.
This is a highly recommended visit.

The Plaza de Toros de Torreon, founded in November 1934, is the oldest in La Laguna Region. Through its arena there have been matadors, novilleros, athletes and artists who have marked the social and cultural life of the Shire.
