Soulkite

We provide stand up paddle (SUP) lessons and tours of Lower Lough Derg from our base in Killaloe. We use only the best new season gear and pride ourselves on our professional and friendly manner. So if you want to see lough Derg from a different point of view, give us a call.

The SoulSUP experience was excellent from start to finish. Kevin and Luna were welcoming right from the off and my two young children's anxieties were soon put to rest by the friendly and professional way they were dealt with.
In total we had 3 young children ranging from 6-11 and 4 adults, 2 of our party had been stand up paddle boarding once before, but for the rest of us we were absolute beginners.
Personally for me it was my first go and something I had been thinking about doing for a while and I am so glad I did. If you haven't tried it do!
The route and difficulty was tailored to our abilities it was hard enough to be interesting and easy enough to enjoy.
I cannot thank Kevin enough for a great couple of hours out on the water with my family and friends in such a great setting.
We will be back.

We went up the Shannon on this beautiful boat and it boast fantastic views; the commentory on the boat is good. The crew are friendly and make you feel very welcome. We were lucky as the weather was good so we could sit up top, however, if it rains it does have a covered area with a small bar, the Irish coffee is a must. Highly recommend.

St. Flannan's Cathedral

Reviewed By claimaday - Faversham, United Kingdom

The Church of Ireland follows the Anglican tradition and has a strong congregation in Killaloe. We were made very welcome, and gained much from the Dean's sermon. The Dean doubles as the local vicar, hailing from South Africa, which was a surprise.

Soul Kite

Kevin led a motley group of two women (nervous) and two 11-year old boys (totally overexcited !) for a 2-hour trip and we were hooked within 5 mins! We did confidence building challenges and messing about and having fun on the quiet canal, as well as some sightseeing on the main lake. All by Killaloe.
Would highly recommend. For all ages and abilities. Wish we'd tried it earlier in the holiday so we could have had another go before we had to leave.
Kevin is a great instructor. Nothing phased him. He explained everything clearly and let you get on with it whilst keeping you safe. The boys were throwing themselves in the water - the adults too! Loved it.

Now relocated beside the Roman Catholic Church. The building itself was saved from the rise in the river Shannon due to the electricity generating station several miles downstream. The area where the oratory is now located is the historic site of the banqueting hall of King Brian Boru defeated the Danes at Clontarf in 1014 AD. In those times Killasloe was the capital of Ireland
