Faversham /ˈfævərʃəm/ is a market town and civil parish in the Swale district of Kent, England. The town is 48 miles from London and 10 miles from Canterbury and lies next to the Swale, a strip of sea separating mainland Kent from the Isle of Sheppey in the Thames Estuary. It is close to the A2, which follows an ancient British trackway which was used by the Romans and the Anglo-Saxons, and known as Watling Street. The Faversham name is of Latin via Old English origin, meaning "the metal-worker's village".

We waited 3 months for our table it it was worth it. The food and service was outstanding. It is a beautiful Georgian house and is perfect for a special occasion.
We had the lunch menu, food was well presented, my only complaint would be as I don’t drink coffee I had tea which although served in a lovely teapot was not loose tea !

We visited here on Saturday 3rd March. Originally we had the table booked for 7.30pm, however due to the snowy & icy weather we changed it to 6pm. The staff were more than happy to change it.
The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, and the portion sizes were definitely not stingy.
We would have no hesitation to recommend this place.

A party of 9 of us opted for the three course set menu one recent Saturday for the amazing price of £14.95. There was something on the menu to suit everyone - a choice of 4 starters, 4 mains and three desserts plus ice creams and sorbets. Unfortunately, there were a few niggles - the complimentary bread was not as good as I remember it, the grilled sardines were minute, the wild garlic and pine nut linguine was served with an unnecessary topping of broccoli with tough inedible stalks and the cheese, as always came straight from the 'fridge. However, the atmosphere is cosy and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Whenever we wish to celebrate my wife & I always walk down to Posillipo from our house 100 yards away.
It never fails to meet all our requirements - good genuine Italian food, great atmosphere, friendly & efficient staff & reasonable prices.
We always choose from the Specials menu chalked on the board & have never been disappointed in dozens of visits.
Long live Posillipo!

A picturesque 14th Century pub situated in a small village near the town of Faversham. Surrounded in history the pub dates back to the 1300's and still contains many original features. The pub offers a selection of traditional english food alongside the frequently changing seasonal specials. Facilities include an upstairs restaurant, availiable for dining or large functions, a front patio overlooking the church and village green and a well established pub garden with many historical features and a large play area for children.
Has a really great meal at at recent visit to The Red Lion. Great fish and chips, nice beer, comfortable surroundings, good staff. However being charged £6.50 for about 1 square inch of sticky toffee pudding made me feel ripped off at the end of the meal. Already quite expensive for ok pub food, I think desert pricing needs an immediate review!!!!

Dined on a Saturday night in their restaurant ( which is quite small so you need to book).
Food was of very good pub standard. Beer was excellent.
We did not try other restaurants in Faversham but I would imagine this was better than most. Nice lively atmosphere and friendly service.

ASK Italian is one of the UK's leading casual dining restaurant brands with over 110 restaurants across the country. We are driven by a passion for authentic Italian food and culture and work with a number of expert friends, including chef Theo Randall, to bring the best of Italian life to the UK high street.
On a recent family visit to this Ask it really wasn't the same, the place was not busy yet we were crammed into the window in a room that had no other diners, the service was rush, rush at the beginning then you don't see anyone throughout the meal other than to bring you the next course.
Having eaten here quite a few times we had always found the service and interaction very good but none of the original team were around (if they still work there).
When you have a choice of here to eat one would think the staff remember this as they must be after repeat business, whilst it is convenient for us to eat here it has made us reconsider this and maybe add some more time on our journey and find a better eatery.
Such a pity but I am afraid this last visit put us off returning.

If you’re looking for a friendly independent pub restaurant in the picturesque Faversham area, then look no further. Local beers, wines & ciders and a choice from the constantly changing selection of unique homemade dishes from our blackboard come as standard in our family-run country pub. Tucked away in an area of outstanding natural beauty between the historical towns of Maidstone, Ashford and Faversham, The Plough inhabits a unique space amongst Kent’s rolling hills and lush farmland. Our unspoilt surroundings in ‘The Garden of England’ create the perfect setting for enjoying the fresh, locally-sourced meals we serve here. Just come and see for yourself. There’s plenty to see and do nearby, and we’re a great stop-off for walkers and cyclists alike. A short drive from Faversham is medieval Leeds Castle, the home of Catherine of Aragon in the sixteenth century, with parts dating back to the early 1100’s. We also enjoy stunning views out to Herne Bay, a popular Victorian seaside town known for its pier, pretty shingle beach and pastel-coloured huts along the seafront. Other local attractions are Farming World in Faversham for a day of family fun, and some of Kent’s leading vineyards for those who are young at heart. Whether you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy a warm and lazy afternoon taking in the stunning views from our Gardens or seeking the unbeatable cosiness of an open log fire in the winter, we look forward to welcoming you to The Plough Inn.
The Plough is well worth a visit. It is in beautiful countryside, is welcoming, has a fire, and is dog friendly. It is a quintessential English pub. It always seems to be busy and the food is excellent. What really matters is that the staff are uniformly helpful and friendly. We went as a group of 30 and the restaurant service was first rate. It is a stop off place for walkers, which I would recommend without hesitation.

Had lunch here on a Wednesday expectring the place to be empty but it was almost full. Great food at reasonable prices. I had sausage & mash & the sausages were so tasty. The staff were very polite & helpfull as well.
You have to know where this pub is as it's off the beaten track a bit but there is a"knife & fork" sign at the turn off on the main road.
Well worth a trip.

I hadn't been to the Faversham Kebab House for a couple of years so when a couple of freinds mentioned Faversham I immediately said: "Right! Lunch at the FKH." I was disappointed to discover the restaurant is not open during the week because as George, the owner explained: "It's too expensive to do that for a handful of customers." I pointed out he needed to change the info. on the website and George said he would do it asap.
George is a real gentleman. I lived in Turkey for many years and it';s fun to be able to chatter away in Turkish again. The chef - the same one as ever - prerpared mixed grill and salads while we drank Turkish black tea presented by George, who also chucked in the humous and pita bread free.
We dove down to the Shipwright's Arms and had the meal in the pub garden. The food, as usual, was absolutely Turkish and absolutely delicious - and really a give-away at £7 per person.
I've already promised to take my friends there for dinner this Saturday evening. It's like dining in a real Turkish home - and there's no higher praise than that...!
