The Salmonid interpretation centre is an amazing successful operation of government, industry and local people working together to preserve and improve the environment. it is interesting regardless of your age. being able to see the fish swim by the basement windows was so cool!

Great trail system that is well maintained throughout the year. Trails are accessible in the winter and are regularly. The trails are the gem of GF-W and should be appreciated. Great for nature lovers, afternoon strollers or those looking for a longer distance hike.

The Exploits River, the largest & longest river in Newfoundland, offers a truly unforgettable rafting experience and provides a great way to enjoy the thrill of whitewater without being an expert paddler. Our tours are designed for both first-timers and experienced rafters, and provide a great way to enjoy the thrill of whitewater without being an expert paddler. Open to singles, couples or groups, excursions run daily from early May until the end of October
Absolutely loved my experience at Rafting Newfoundland! Did the Badger Chute today, July 29, and had a blast! Our guide, Nick, was lots of fun and kept us entertained the whole time while keeping us safe too! It's suitable for all ages and has some thrills and plenty of time to just float down the river taking in the beautiful scenery.
They take safety seriously and deck you out in all the gear and give you a thorough safety briefing. The staff are well qualified and experienced.
The rapids are class III and while there aren't many of them, the ones that are there are a lot if fun! Badger Chute is meant for all ages and they offer a more challenging route for people looking for a little more excitement.
Snacks are provided while rafting and afterwards you are treated to a BBQ!
The hospitality is top notch! Definitely check them out!

Central Newfoundland's finest Dinner Theatre. Lunch and Dinner Performances. Air Conditioned / Bar Service / Wheel Chair Accessible. Military Museum on-site
I attended the summer show Motown Memories and was skeptical going into it but the talent was tremendous and they won me over. I really enjoyed the show and look forward to going again in the future.

The museum has an excellent presentation and artifacts about formation of the island to the start and progression of human habitation. The slow extinction of the peaceful Beothuk Indians is such a sad legacy to Nfld, but the historians at the museum have outlined the brutality of the Europeans who came to take the resources of the region, and to kill anyone standing in the way of such land/resource ownership claims.
