There are so many stores here that it is a bit overwhelming. We went in the middle of summer and it was so hot that it was hard to really enjoy myself. However, there was a ton of fabric. Lots of stores. Some Japanese fabric that was really beautiful. Not a lot of laces that I could see. One store had a zillion buttons in tubes. I really want to go back in the spring or fall and explore again by myself. If you are travelling to Japan, plan to go to Nippori twice. Go once to get the feel of the place and then another time to shop for fabric.

It is accessible by the Toden Arakawa Tram line at the Arakawa-Yūenchi-mae station. The park is about 500m scenic walk from the station. Admission is free for children and ¥100 for adult, most of the rides are ¥100 each but if you purchased 5 tickets, you'll get 1 free.
The rides are old carnival types but well maintained like a mini roller coaster, ferris wheel (great view of Tokyo sky tree and Tokyo tower), struggler, spinning teacups, etc. A lot of Japanese families with young children were there.
There is a mini zoo with deers, monkeys, ponies, raccoons, capybaras and peacocks. Within the same site is a mini tram museum showcasing some mini models and a real size tram.
We enjoyed this park very much, it's better than the 2 Disneys.

The long covered pedestrian alley is a good place for walking around to discover a hidden quiet face of Tokyo, far from the touristic districts. Close this street, there's Minowabashi, the terminal station of Toden Arakawa Line, the last streetcar still in service in Tokyo. Around the Railways, there's cherry tree, bloomed when i was coming. You feel out of the time in that place.

The staircase leads down into a traditional area with Street food, cafes, bakeries, grocers, fruit, seafood and gift shops. We loved exploring this area and the locals were welcoming. There is a small shrine where you can light a votive candle. A short walk from Nippori station.

Awesome park three minutes from Machiya station. It has everything -jogging tracks, free bicycle rental for young kids, a bicycle course, nature, swans, turtles, stretching and fitness course. And it's a nice place for a picnic overlooking the water.
