An exclusive resort town long recognized for attracting royalty, Estoril lies less than 20 miles west of Lisbon and is probably best known for its casino. One of Europe’s largest, it was the inspiration for the first of Ian Fleming’s James Bond books, "Casino Royale." Estoril’s mild winters and warm sunny summers make it a perfect beach town, with one of the nicest, Praia do Tamariz, lying right next to the casino. So famous has Estoril become that the local coast is now called Costa do Estoril.

Our hotel was walking distance from the beach, we had a lovely walk along the Promenade where there is a good amount of quality restaurants and bars at very good prices. We enjoyed drinks watching the sunset on the Promenade and had a good meals in the restaurants. I would definitely visit here again, it is suitable for couples and families, lovely atmosphere.

Unlike further along the west Atlantic coast, there are no Surfing waves here making the sea suitable for children. There are small warm rock pools at one end of the beach. Ice creams and drinks are readily available. Also the position of the beach makes it fairly sheltered from any NE Atlantic winds, a great asset in this area.
One can walk along the Promenade from the shops in Cascais along to this beach, passing several Cascais Beaches along the way. This beach is my favourite.

went to the casino for dinner and to see a play, I have never been here before but I can say I totally liked it. the staff was super professional and the inside of the casino was beautiful.
Didn't play on any machine but probably next time.
the room for the play was beautiful but the only down side were the chairs, very unconfortable. I would advise them to change the chairs asap-
the play was amazing as only Mr La Feria can make
Please vote for my review and the pictures if you liked it.

We visited here after a long day in Lisbon, before going back to our hotel.
The food was served in good time with an excellent jug of sangria.
The only downside was that the staff were inattentive and arguing among themselves in front of all the guests. The waiters were also seen throwing bits of food at each other for a couple of minutes.
The food was reasonable. However, the professionalism of the restaurant was lacking.

Students from this Hotel and Culinary school will cook you up a unique lunch or dinner, where meals are served either at a fixed price or a la carte.
his is the main school for those who aim to become a chef, or to work in restaurants and hotels. The school serves lunches at a very affordable price cooked by its students. Service is excellent. It really is worth a visit.
