The Hub pub is a bar with a truly unique eclectic atmosphere.A place where you can feel at home and part of one big, happy family. No two nights are the same and the music swings widely in genre and taste, led by our guests! Expect the unexpected, there could could be toe wrestling, join in or just watch and laugh! Yard of ale challenge or even our circus bike in the street. Our hostel(Funky Box),is within crawling distance for the inebriated and a 10 second walk for non drinkers. Drinks are priced for the budget traveler. Meet Alan Bate, the owner and the World's fastest man to lap the planet on a bicycle but don't laugh at his terrible jokes! So..... come for a laugh and stay for the party! See you soon.
I came here as part of a tour with G Adventures (Indochina Encompassed). We stayed at a guesthouse nearby. The staff were very hospitable, allowing us to play our own music (the old favourites), and shouting us shots after almost every round. Top notch. But...MoreI think you mistaking us with Rin bar.. Which is also a great place. Maybe you can leave a review on their TripAdvisor page too. ;-)

Nice bar with very good music (rock, blues) which we were missing after some time in Thailand! Billiard and baby foot, we had great fun Good food, European or Thai. Very helpful, they even provided us with ice cream from the neighboring restaurant!

Chiang Khong is not a large place... many people just pass through to cross the border into Laos. We bussed up there just to check it out. We spent an entire day bicycling around the town and the country side and checked out some temples. Wat Luang was one of the finest, most lovely temples in this town. If you have some extra time, find it! It's as gorgeous as any of the larger temples in Chiang Mai and will be practically deserted.

From central Chiang Khong we paid 150thb to get to the boarder.
When you arrive, you will need to present your passport and Thai departure card at immigration. You will then need to pay 20thb for a bus ticket across the bridge.
Our hotel (day riverside) in Chiang Mai hong gave us the loas immigration forms in advance so we had them filled out and ready which was perfect so we could go to the front of the line. For countries that require a visa, there are two forms that need to be filled out and one passport photo stapled to one of the forms.
You hand both forms, one photo and your passport to the visa booth on the far right, wait for it to be processed (took 10min for us but we are first in line) then once ready someone in the window to the left of the first booth will hand you your passport back and ask for the visa fee.
The are particular about American dollars being new - they rejected several bills so bring extra.
We paid 200thb each (4 people =800thb) on the loas side to get to central huay Xavi (the gibbon experience office). We were surprised they accepted (well.. asked for) Thai baht.
