The ‘village de pêcheurs’ is a collection of 10 wooden huts situated on the coast road (D81A) halfway between Canet-Plage and St-Cypien-Plage and next to the Etang Canet et de St Nazaire (lake). Only one hut is open and contains a museum about the fisherman village; the rest of the huts are used for fishermen’s storage.
Across the Etang Canet et de St Nazaire are views of the snowy peaks of the Canigou mountain.
There is small car park by the village but there is masses of parking along the coastal road and a crossing point by the entrance. Museum only open limited hours; but one can wander around the huts anytime.
The huts were built in 1993 using traditional materials and techniques. However, with a lifetime of only 18 to 25 years the huts may not last much longer.

We are a small, fully-operational vineyard in the south of France practicing organic growing, cultivation, harvesting and production methods. Our winemaker, Serge Baux, is a man of passion whose philosophy is rooted in a respect for nature. Only a stone’s throw from the Mediterranean, mid-way between Perpignan and Canet along the ancient Roman VIA DOMITIA (containing the oldest vineyards of the Mediterranean countries), the Baux estate is spread out over 20 hectares, 12 of which are planted with vines in full production. A completely restored 18th century Catalan Mas houses the vinification, aging and bottling processes. We are also lucky to have a unique terroir, found in very few other places in the world, covered in naturally-formed round stones sitting on a clay bedrock, and we boast strictly manual green harvests with highly-selective hand-sorting of our grapes, producing exceptionally high-quality wines.
I am French and a real wine lover, originally from this region and I strongly recommend the Mas Baux. The wine selection is excellent, the experience is super authentic and Marie Pierre and Serge will host you as if you were from their family. A true French Catalan Wine journey!

Centrally located, nice exterior. Just remember that you need to have your passport if you are a foreign national - your drivers licence will not do. We learned this lesson the hard way in Argeles-sur-Mer and didn't make the same mistake twice! 1705.

Galerie d art entree libre
Il s'agit d'une Galerie d'Art-Exposition située au coeur du Village, immeuble non loin de ma maison. J'aperçois parfois les enfants des Ecoles qui en sortent.... Toujours assez intéressant....
