Rust is a nice village and this church (now museum) deserves a visit. Not much to see in it but there are beautiful medieval frescoes, and 18th century organ and some 15th century sculptures. Shame that the painted windows are now being restored in Vienna. The church is dedicated to some fishermen that saved the Queen. €2 entrance fee.

There are not so many attractions in Rust, if you are looking for something that is not a wine-cellar or "buchenschank". There are 3 chruches in this little town. 2 operating and one that works like a museum... The Stadtpfarrkirche is a small, nice catholic church, I think it was renovated not so long ago. The church itself was built in the 17th century, from outside not a breathtaking building, but the interior is very nice. The wallpaintings are from the 18th-19th century. The best thing to do (if you catch the opening hours): to climb up to the tower and enjoy the picturesque landscape, and the chimneys around with the nests of storks.

Relax and enjoy, best wine and sweets in town, in the very center of the lovely historic town. Best place to pause your visit of Rust.
