Lady of Assumption atop Jalleca Hills can pretty much be seen from anywhere in the town of Maasin. It's only 5 - 10 minutes walk from the port. After climbing many steps, you will be at the top of the hill with a giant statue of Mary. Religious subject aside here, it's more than worth the visit for the spectacular views it affords of the town of Maasin.

This small and lovely Cathedral is made of coral blocks carved from the ocean lying before it.
Maasin is the capital of Southern Leyte and there are a reasonable amount of resources there, including food and housing, to facilitate your trip to Maasin.
Facilities are very near but obviously the church does not serve lunch!
The Cathedral can be seen in more detail in http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/651921
Just flip through the book, no need to buy.

MAASIN CITY— boasts of the most amazing shrine, the Monte Cueva Asuncion dela Virgen Shrine, or simply Monte Cueva, The shrine is called Monte Cueva (172 meters above sea level) because its chapel is inside the cave. Canonically established by the bishop of Maasin, it is officially called the Shrine of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus and the Our Lady of the Assumption, the city’s patroness. There are two long stairways on both sides. The right one with about 550 steps is the upward entrance “path,” while the other, with over 300 steps, leads downward to the exit. It was said that the previous owner of the land had a dream about the Lady of Assumption, who asked him to build a shrine. True enough, he built it and subsequently donated the property to the diocese.

The place is a bit difficult to find since no indication on the road. Ask the locals. About 6 km from Maasin. Then there is a 7 km hick to the top in the forest. First a road then a fairly good track. About 2 hours to get there. Before the falls you may be asked to sign the visitor register and for a guide but this is not necessary. Just follow the track, cross the small river flow and keep on. You are almost there. The place is nice and possibility to swim. Don't leave after 5pm in order not to get caught by the night then the track will be very tricky on the way down. Enjoy yiurself

Went with friends for a day of picnic and swimming at this resort, very wooded and cool shade. The pool is quite large and very well maintained, with shaded picnic tables conveniently nearby. The rates are very reasonable, and there's a convenience-store snack shop on the premises if you forgot snacks or drinks.

We visited Agas Agas zip line on a day trip from Padre Burgos. The views from the top of the zip line are wonderful, looking out over lush green Mountains and the Agas Agas bridge. The zipline is great fun if a little scary! This was one of the best ziplines we saw in the Philippines with incredible views, it feels like you are flying! There are two ziplines next to each other, so you can go down two at a time. There is a motorbike at the bottom to give you a lift back up to the top. There are also several stalls selling drinks, snacks and souvenirs.
We had a wonderful day out, an adrenaline fuelled adventure!
