We visited Hogenekkal falls during republic day weekend.
It is located at a distance of around 150km from attibele checkpost.
There are two routes from bangalore.
1. Highway from bangalore till Dharmapuri and then take diversion towards Hogenakkal (150km)
2. Another route via denkabikottai (110km)
Although the first route is longer there is no big difference in travel time.
We took the first route as we could have good restaurants on the way.
There is small ghat section near to the falls but the roads are well maintained.
The place was extremely crowded as it was a long weekend. There were so much crowd for boating (around 150 people) waiting in queue. So we decided to skip the coracle ride - but thats the only major attraction there.
People also take bath in the small water fall. There are massage guys everywhere offering oil massages. There are also so many vendors selling cooked fish.
There is a small iron bridge where we can have some good views.
Overall it is recommended to visit the place during weekdays or else not during long weekends so that there are less chances of huge crowd.
Like I mentioned, apart from the coracle ride Hogenakkal has nothing much to offer. Also the weather is quite hot.

This Memorial was built for Thiyagi Subramanya Siva (04.10.1884 to 23.07.1925) was a firebrand revolutionary independence fighter from Tamil Nadu. He closely worked with V.O. Chidambaram Pillai and Subramanya Bharathy and inspired many young men to join the freedom movement. Siva was the first political prisoner in the Madras Presidency.
A Must visit place in Dharmapuri to know about our Freedom Fighters.

The place is full of temples (both Shaiva and Vaishnava, very ancient and old)..for example, asking for Theerthagireeswarar temple, we landed at Mallikaarjuna Swamy temple, an ancient 8th century BC temple by Pallavaas.. The Vidhan at sanctum sanctorium has eight dimensions and one of the four pillars here is actually hanging as one can slide sheets of paper through..

Very Calm and Peaceful place for Prayers and Meditation. On the way from bottom of the hill to top there is lot of Statues which shows the Jesus Christ Birth to death Life. In Middle of the Mount we can see the Annai Marry. In top Jesus Statue is there.
Every May there is a three days function called " Kebi ." The first day Whole Night Drama about Jesus Christ is very Nice and cant able see such a reality show anywhere. Second and Third days are Musical Nights and Ther Oorvalam.
The attraction is located at B.Pallipatti, Near by Bommidi 4 Kms which is the nearest Railway station.

Located about 1 KM away from the Hogenekal Falls at Dharmapuri this Crocodile rehabilitation center has around 200 crocodiles of various shapes, sizes and colors.
One can witness from lovely tiny crocs to giant sized ones housed in various cages .
Place is maintained well .
Some of the adult ones are injured and understand from the care takers that wounds are results of bitter fight among themselves during feeding time.
Another highlight is this place offers the most closest looks of the animals compared to any other parks that I have visited till date.
Worth a visit .Entry fee is only Rs 5 per head. Maintained by Government.
