Monastery of the Transfiguration

Reviewed By Busdik - Singapore, Singapore

No public transport could give you access to the Monastery. So backpackers and budget travellers may hire a motorcycle or an entire public transport to be able to reach this place. To begin with, the Transfiguration Monastery is a must-go if you are within the area. One can truly venerate, meditate, pray and reflect here. The church it self has so much history and story written in it. It is beautiful as it is. Masses are also done daily here (just google for the schedule of masses).

Mt Capistrano

Reviewed By Estella Maris A

"Astonished by the view from the top", that's the first statement I could say when asked how was it at Mt. Capistrano. Well, mostly that's how I can describe every mountain view I experienced. The real beauty of nature. Going up is still the hardest esp. for this mountain. Strong arms and legs are a must because of a very steep trail ahead. A hand glove will be a great help if you have one (which I did not have that time)because you'll be needing it for gripping the ropes going up and down of the mountain. Sunblock and heat protections are needed especially if you started to climb between 9am or 10 (which I suggest you should not do)because I experienced that first hand. It was awful. We started our climb at 9:30am precisely and reached the top around 11am. Mind you, the normal climb is 2 to 3hrs but I made that with just an hour and a half because someone is really pushing my limit in climbing. The travel going to the area is thru "habal-habal" for a fee of P30 per head and an additional 20 for an environmental fee when you decide to choose the common path where there are stairs at the beginning part of the climb. Hope you guys try this adventure. You might feel giving up in the middle but always be motivated of what you can see when you reach the top.

Lots of pine trees and picturesque scenery. Notice though that the huts needs proper maintenance. Nice to have a stroll, a jog or a picnic with the cool breeze.

Nasuli Spring

Reviewed By Paolo F - Cagayan de Oro, Philippines

The water from the spring is cold, a soothing relief after going to Mt. Capirstrano. There's no signage of Nasuli, so better ask some locals for direction, but don't worry it's not far from the highway. You can rent life vest, tubes and tables there. The spring is deep but clean. Nice place.

The Bukidnon Tree Park

Reviewed By cristabern - Bangkok, Thailand

This was a great jogging route. The roadway are cemented and sorrounded by dense population of pine trees. You are litirally jogging across a mini forest minus the possibility of tripping on wayward branches or uneven ground.
It is also a nice view to do a photoshoot since it is not crowded.
