Have not visited since 2012. What a difference, bigger and better than before. Spent about 5 hours in the place and could have stayed longer easily. Next time we'll have to get there earlier. Had an enjoyable wander round looking at the animals. The bears and lions didn't want to come out but you were able to look in the windows and see them. My wife loved watching the otters playing about. I could have watched the wolves all day. Our daughter was scared of the crocodiles but returned for a second visit before leaving. Nice little cafe for a warm drink and some food. Really enjoyed the visit and won't leave it so long for the next visit.

A family-friendly museum on a peaceful riverside site with friendly farm animals, working watermill and interactive displays. Explore fields and woodland walks, join in daily demonstrations and activities, and let the kids go wild in Playgrounds, pedal carts and trampolines. Take a trip by tractor, ride the narrow-gauge railway, explore the museum, or bounce around in the indoor soft play area. There is lots to see and do at Almond Valley indoors and out.
We decided to do a little last min family day at Almond Valley and were absolutely thrilled with our choice. We had so much fun around all their normal facilities but the icing on the cake was Santa. He chatted with our little boy, posed for all pics and was a total delight. The pressy was also fantastic, all age ranges catered for and our guy got a beautifully illustrated animal book, all this for only £3.50 (on top of entrance fee).
As a side note we are just back from Santa on George St which was a complete waste of money and time. George street was over twice the price, after queuing you were rammed in to a tiny sweat box, got a communal 2 minute speech, a 2 second hello and a cheap colouring book. The whole thing is so badly organised, over subscribed and such a let down. In contrast Almond Valley is relaxed, informal, friendly and just a lovely alround family experience.
If you are looking for a lovely family day with Santa I can not recommend Almond Valley highly enough. Great job all!

The owl center is understated but very interesting even though pretty small. What a variety of owls, I never knew so many owls species existed. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable.

Returned to watch Goodbye Christopher Robin, it was a mid Thursday afternoon so it was quiet bar 4 others, still as comfy and staff still as helpful.
Reasonably priced and an asset to Bathgate town centre, quite possibly the best thing to happen to the town for quite sometime, hopefully it'll reattract business back to the precinct,

We were taken to the Beecraigs restaurant for breakfast, which was excellent, and then put on our boots to walk it off. Deer and cattle to watch and good woodland walks. Lots of families at the adventure play park. A really nice place to spend two or three hours. We didn’t make it up the nearby hill which our hosts told us provided spectacular views. Next time definitely.

The Retreat Health and Beauty Salon offers a wide selection of the latest treatments.
Came across this salon on facebook and as its not far from where I live decided to try out their treatments. I have since become a fan and visit regularly. Girls make you feel very welcome, always a smile and very accomodating. Recently have ESPA available and the girls are now ESPA trained which really pleased me as I am big fan of ESPA. My shellac nails are the best I have ever had. Massage was out of this world. They have a VIP list which regularly offers discounts and more recently added a Late List via email, which allows you to book for the next day at a discounted price when spaces available. Worth trying you wont be disappointed!

West Lothian's most exciting venue for arts, music, theatre, comedy, dance, Exhibitions and classes. Howden Park Centre is a stunning arts centre that features a 300 seat auditorium at its heart, an art gallery (free entry), art studio, several multi-function rooms for hire and a stylish café bar with free Wi-Fi. Please refer to Howden Park Centre's website for venue and box office opening hours.
Stopped here with a friend as we wanted to see what's on over the next couple of months. Ended up having coffee and cake whilst chatting. Staff are friendly and there's a large choice of cakes, biscuits and snacks available at reasonable prices. Will have to pop back to try the hot food but all in, a pleasant experience.
