Skinners brewery, whilst small, is the best tasting experience to date! Emma was a wonderful host, both friendly and knowledgeable. But most of all the samples aren't what I consider samples! As others have said here, definitely go for half pints if you have to drive. All in all a really great experience and you can always go round Truro for a bit to kill time beforehand.

A beautiful building right in the centre of Truro. Impressive exterior and even more impressive inside. A quiet oasis in the centre of the town. Loved the meditation time with the organ quietly playing in the background. A wonderful place. Excellent restaurant attached with friendly waitresses and a superb gift shop selling mainly quality gifts and the obligatory plastic Cornish Pastys.

A great day out. Cyder tasting, whisky tasting, jam tasting.Plenty of animals and interesting information. Good tour and very friendly staff. Lasts around 2 hours in total. Give yourself a bit longer if you want something to eat. Very dog friendly, which is great as it's hard to do anything as a couple with a furry companion. Good value for money, strongly recommend.

Hall for Cornwall is a perfect place for a good night of entertainment. Look out for an event that would fit your taste, and go along for a great night out. The location is good with plenty of car parks in walking distance. It has a well stocked bar if you like a tipple. It is a great venue for a family night out. With such a varied entertainment bill, there is something to please all tastes. I went to watch my grand-daughter in a play.

Royal Cornwall Museum

Explore 1000s of historical objects from both Cornwall and the rest of the world, along with one of the county's finest art collections. Also open on Bank Holidays, and on Sundays in August.

I visited here last week with my family, and we were pleasantly taken aback by the amazing value for money at just £5.50 per adult for a couple of hours of wandering around and seeing such interesting objects on display. It beats a great deal of other places we went to on our Cornwall holiday in terms of value for money in the entrance price!
There is a good range of artifacts here, ranging from an extensive collection of rocks and minerals found across Cornwall (and some amazing fossils in that room too!), an interactive section for children featuring lots of taxidermy animals, all tastefully displayed with lots of quizzes and microscopes set up for you to examine specimens, right up to a real unwrapped Egyptian mummy - who was delicately and respectfully displayed in his own section. The desk staff were very thorough in reminding every guest who entered that the section the mummy is located in is the only part of the museum you cannot take photographs in, out of respect.
One of the best museums I have ever visited, the gift shop was very reasonably priced and there is a cafe if you're feeling peckish - re-entry the same day is allowed with your admission price if you would prefer to nip out for lunch!

Callestick Farm Cornish Dairy Ice Cream

We love to welcome visitors to see where our delicious ice cream is produced here on the farm. We have a small shop selling our large range ice cream as well as cream teas and cakes. There is a peaceful courtyard outside the shop to sit out and enjoy the Sunshine on the fine days and an indoor area inside the shop to enjoy a tasty sweet treat when the weather isn't so kind. We have a viewing gallery in the factory where it is possible to see the ice cream being made (production times vary so we can't guarantee that the factory will always be operational) There is also a small children's play area in the car park and a variety of animals to interact with.

It's quite out of the way but once you get there you can see pigs, chickens, there's a play area, kids can milk a fake cow. Having paid for other attractions it was a nice change to get this for just the price of the ice cream, which was also lovely!

Tuesday 14 June 16, We then took our friend Rosa to visit ‘Poppy Cottage’ garden at Ruan High Lanes situated in the heart of the beautiful Roseland Peninsula. Poppy Cottage Garden covers an acre full of colour with all year round interest. Planted as a series of rooms which are small Gardens in themselves, it is brimming with bulbs, herbaceous grasses, shrubs, flowers and even exotics mainly colour themed, with plenty of places to sit and soak up the ambiance of this lovely garden. At the top part of the garden is an orchard which is home to some unusual ducks and mandarin chickens. This is also a nursery area with a wide range of plants that can be purchased.
This divine place has been the lifelong passion of Tina Pritchard and her husband, who are both professional gardeners. The garden shows there love and devotion and what can be done with a small piece of land if you have the time. Poppy Cottage Garden was featured by the BBC. Sadly, this may be the last year of Poppy Garden as Tina and her husband are getting a divorce and they are having to sell up, there was a ‘For Sale’ board outside the house when we visited the garden.
My husband, Rosa and I spent time here and had tea, coffee and cakes with Tina and we were chatting away like we had known her as a dear friend for many years. Tina had such a warm and friendly personality, she told us that she was hoping to sell the house to someone who would keep the garden going, but time will tell if this is the case. It would be ‘sad’ to lose such a lovely garden. The garden was really inspiring to me and I wrote a poem here called ‘Lover’s In Paradise’. We spent the afternoon here and left here at closing time

Llama Lland

My friend arranged a visit with Llama Tom for four of us as part of our girly weekend - and so glad she did! We arrived and were introduced to a variety of Llama's - Tom was very patient with us through the walk and answered the multitude of questions we had about the llama's! We then stopped for an excellent cream tea, before getting a tour of the farm. We absolutely loved the experience, seeing how well cared for the llama's were, and how appreciated their personalities were. Would recommend this experience to anyone looking to book something whilst they're in the Cornwall area - Tom was an absolute star and we'd definitely go back again.
