Despite being black sand, Banana Beach with its Hijo Resorts Water Sports on offer is surprisingly enjoyable. I have extensively reviewed Hijo Resorts under its TA accommodation listing.

They said it's the largest rosary in the world. Well indeed it's so huge. The beads of the rosary are made of cement. I suggest to better go here during early morning or late afternoon so it will not be so hot and the weather will be conduceive for praying and reflection.

It is the biggest mall in Tagum. It is complete, from department stores to fashion shops, cinemas, pharmacies, boutiques and almost all fast food shops are here in this mall.
There is the central atrium to hold programs and shows. You will forget the day here in this mall. You may stay the whole day with the family if you like.

We went to Tagum City which is about 2 hours by bus from Davao City last April 6-12 to participate in the 2014 National Prisaa Games. One of the incredible sites is the Christ the King Cathedral which has a unique design because the front looks a modern 4 story building while the back portion looks like a castle. This was built ten years ago yet the unparallelled design of this place of worship makes it look recent.
At the back is another attraction, the big rosary and a serene garden where u can also stroll and meditate. The big rosary though gives it an amusement park ambiance.
Getting there is a breeze. Take their green-colored tricycle which looks like a short jeepney attached to a motorbike and pay only 10 pesos per head or 40 pesos if less than 4 heads. We paid 50 pesos from the sports stadium known as the Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Center (DNSTC) because its a quite a distance.
The DNSTC itself is another attraction. It has an eight lane oval with enought lights to watch the soccer games at night, an airconditioned basketball court, an olympic size swimming pool beside a fast food restaurant and a tennis court. It is still a work in progress last April because the baseball diamond is still being constructed as well as some other additional sports facilities.
We (athletes, coaches, technical and delegation officials) felt safe and secure because of the presence of peacekeeping forces all over Tagum City durng the Prisaa National Games. Kudos to the local governent and religious officials for making our one week stay memorable.

It is new. It is strategically positioned. Not crowded and along the main thoroughfare. Goods and other high-end items are available. Restaurants and other foods store are available.
Garden ambiance is well kept and best positioned to add the glamor of the place. Grocery department is full and complete. Imported items can be found.
There are special places for kids too. Artistic lamp posts and some surreal designed figures are displayed.
Parking is big. can be underground or along the peripheral wall around the compound.

You'll find pretty much everything you expect from a shopping mall, a department store, various other chain stores, a huge supermarket with a good selection plus a wide variety of food in the food center on the 3rd fl. and in the chain outlets on the ground floor.

It is an excellent plan initiated by the city government to have a botanical park. Even at this time it is already visible and one can enjoy the cool breeze and gentle wind up there. There are already good roads and some gazebos and pathways. The total area has yet to be attended to for the completion of this project.
The project is targeted to be finished in year 2020. These days a little portion of some hectares out of the total area has been improved and is already a beauty to see,

The place you can see anything you like to buy. From shoes, bags, luggage, dresses, shirts, cellphone cases,
Food stalls at the other corner. Vendors have their own tent with tables and grilling paraphernalia, and also eating utensils.
One will be occupied to go around. It is located around the Tagum Trade Center, along the streets of Quezon and Bonifacio and even along Osmena.
Look like fiesta time. this is done every evening from 6pm until 10pm. We were happy to be here as part of the crazy crowd looking for ukayukay, shoes or bags or dresses. then after when hungry we will choose a stall and ready to be served.
Actually along the side where grilling of food is set it has a lot of smoke. Could be not suitable for asthmatic and young children.

Their is a bigger area for walking, camping, biking, group conference and some programs done in an intended gazebo. Trees are seen around to give shelter to campers and picnickers.
National and international Boy Scouts Jamboree was held in this E-Park. Kite flying competition was done here. There are Government Buildings here. A playground also specially in Football competition. There are bikes for rent to those who prefer to bike.
Many are seen in the morning. I was here too one morning to do my walking routine. Some youngsters were practicing with their bikes. Most groups like students from nearby schools prefer to practice their Cheerdance routine; usually in big groups.
This is our favorite hangout. Young and old.

I have not been here at Christmas, but I have seen pictures of the huge Christmas tree. Freedom Park is a great place to go. In the evening, it is around the corner from the night market. Many people sitting and chatting, children playing..it is a nice place to go and watch people, or maybe go and be watched yourself! hahaha
