The safe transport of visitors and residents of Scarborough between the Town Centre and the South Bay beach.
This old Tram is brilliant for the older generation, disabled or those with prams, or even those like me - who are pysically unfit for whatever reason and need help getting up those deadly, dreaded steps!
For something so cheap - 'as cheap as chips' - it's a great little ride, keeping up the tradition of Scarborough. Even if you are able to walk up those steps, I would give the Tram a try purely for the experience! You can tell it's an old one because of the bumpy ride you experience, however I think this is good because you get the full, true traditional Tram ride with all the bumps and sways :) Good fun, and is basically a rollercoaster for the little ones!

The Scarborough Fair Collection hosts a magnificent working collection of Vintage Cars, Steam Engines, Vintage Fairground Rides and Mechanical Organs topped off with a 2 'Mighty' Wurlitzer Organs in our spacious ballroom. We host tea dances every Wednesday afternoon and Michael Lester playing the "Mighty" Wurlitzer every Thursday afternoon. Our unique venue is also available for private hire and wedding receptions. We have special events throughout the year and a Christmas Spectacular Show
It is only in the last year that my wife and I have discovered the many pleasures of Scarborough Fair though we had driven past it countless times.
The antique fairground rides, the 'OLD PENNY' in the slot machines and of course the extraordinary and unsurpassed collection of early 20th Century mechanical organs and the wonderfully cared for serendipitous collection of vintage vehicles are a sheer delight - not just for those who can wallow in nostalgia. My grandchildren loved it - finding in the old slot machines a sense of hypnotic and addictive pleasure to rival any digital 'amusement'. They tried every one of the old rides and were dismayed to leave when it closed. By cvontrast my 83 year old father in law visited for the first time on his most recent birthday and was delighted to ride (for free - thanks to staff - many of whom are volunteers - who could not be more enthusiastic, knowledgable or kind) on a fairground ride that was built in the year of his birth. Scarborough Fair deserves to be as widely known as it the ballad with which it shares its name. An absolute pleasure.

We came across the sculpture whilst walking along North Bay. The sculpture is nicely done an the story of Freddie Gilroy and the liberation of Belson, very thought provoking. Nice to see that as a temporary loan, that locals wanted to keep the sculpture in place.
The size of the sculpture adds the fun, as when you sit on the seat it really make you look small

One of the best Family Days Out in Scarborough. We are one of the most historic seaside miniature railway in the United Kingdom, offering a wide range of attractions including the NEW Sky Trail, Boating Lake, Historic Water Chute and Water Walking Balls. The Glass House Cafe serves excellent coffee, teas, soft drinks as well as light lunches afternoon teas. The Scampi Shack takeaway offer Whitby Seafood as well as drinks and takeaway tea and coffee. Yorkshire's smallest pub the Boatman's Tavern serves real ale and is located next to the boating lake. At our Peasholm Station we have a well stocked gift shop perfect for picking up gifts and memorabilia. We are 100% wheelchair and pushchair friendly. Dogs are welcome at the North Bay Railway but must be kept on a short lead.
We took the grandchildren on the train as a Christmas treat. The kids loved every minute of the experience which lasted about an hour. It was great value for money, with a return train ride, fairy lights, entertainment, meeting Father Christmas, a present and refreshments.
The presents were great and the kids spent from arriving home until bedtime playing with them.
The staff were pleasant and attentive but I would remind people of the following;-
This isn't Disneyland and you should set your expectations accordingly.
The trains are well loaded and although you are allocated a seat, it may be in an open coach.
It is often very cold at the time of year on the North Bay, so dress appropriately.
There will be a queue to see Father Christmas at the end of the trip.
Altogether this was a pleasant experience, especially for the kids.
Well done to all concerned.

What a lovely beach, everything you could want. A toilet, cafe and life guards.
You feel very safe on here and the cafe surprisingly is very reasonably priced. A bit of a walk to get to it however but don't let that put you off it's well worth it.

Farm park visitor centre, family attraction with farm animals, play areas, gift shop and cafe
This place is off the beaten track and along a lengthy unmade road but don't let that deter you. The surface is well kept and the reward is a great one. Parking is free and the entrance charge for adults, concessions and children is much the same at around £6 per person. A bit of disappointment is the surcharge for credit cards (but this won't last long now thank goodness as it must disappear on Jan 13th 2018) however, once over that hurdle there is PLENTY to do and most of the attractions are on flat, accessible surfaces. There's the animals (after all it is a farm park) and a feeding area. Nearly all of this is under cover. There is a café (moderate prices) and also a covered area for own packed lunches etc to be consumed. This is adjacent to the Play area which has a very comprehensive climbing and slide area. There is also a hay barn with an interesting obstacle course (yet another indoor location) and a playbarn with soft play for the little ones and more challenges for the bigger ones. Again, indoors so full marks for this. The go carts are free to use and we had great fun whilst the zip line and summer sledging was also free to use and well thought out. Frisbee Golf wasn't so easy on a windy day but is yet another free attraction. So, once inside the £6 entrance fee is GREAT VALUE and Mark & Jackie Wilson should be congratulated for proving a first class experience, fit for rain or shine.

It is a large beach running from the harbour to the headland with the esplanade behind. Beach was popular with dog walkers and kids.
The esplanade has the usual takeaways and gift shops, the bins were overflowing which was disappointing and there are a lot of seagulls that some people persist in feeding.

Not much there really. Can get some lovely photos if the lights good. Nice to sit in but don't go alone later on or first thing as homeless are in the nearby shelters on the paths leading to it or sometimes in the Gardens. Pond looks a bit like it could do with a clean. Nice photos taken on way down to beach.
