Rustenburg (/ˈrʌstɪnbɜːrɡ/; Afrikaans pronunciation: [ˈrœstənbœrχ], Afrikaans and Dutch: Town of Rest) is a city at the foot of the Magaliesberg mountain range in North West Province of South Africa. It was one of the official host cities of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, being in close proximity to Phokeng, the capital of the Royal Bafokeng Nation, where the Royal Bafokeng Stadium is located. The England national football team also used this as their base camp for the tournament.

The website includes a number of activities which are now closed or inaccessible: animal park at cascades, closed; bumper boats, closed; butterfly farm, closed; palace, not accessible unless you are staying there, soho swimming pool (closed but temporary due to maintenance).
There are also trips advertised which we were told they no longer support e.g lion park and predator world but there are alternatives although Akwaaba comes with a hefty transfer fee of R1000 without entrance fees.
All that said, the pools at Cascades and Cabanas are lovely and clean, food is generally good value throughout the resort and Pilensburg National Park is beautiful although I’ll consider a private game reserve when I return to the area.

The Sun City Hotel is the hedonistic heart of the Sun City Resort. The ambience of the Casino is one of glamour and sophistication. From the moment you enter the foyer your senses are assaulted by the bold design aspects and dramatic setting. The central area of the casino has been magically transformed into a jungle of lush foliage, cascading water and life-like boulders, encircling fast moving slot machines.
The casino is still the same bit smaller than years ago. Just find it looks tired and needs a fit of a upgrade

A fabulous experience which should not be missed while you're at sun city. Well worth the money and a great adrenalin hit for all ages, including us senior citizens!
2km ride reaching speeds of 120km/hr not for the feint hearted but everything safe. The crew were well trained and i did not worry about my safety at all.

I attended this Mall at least a couple of times a week whilst working in South Africa. Nice restaurants and eatery's available inside. Never experienced any issues. Lots of variety and good prices. Highly recommend this place to expats as an easy one stop shop!.

It is often forgotten that, before becoming President of the old Suid-Afrikaanse Republiek, Paul Kruger was a successful farmer who owned and worked several farms in the Rustenburg district. On one of these - Boekenhoutfontein - stands the Paul Kruger Country Museum which encompasses a collection of unique historic buildings, offering a fascinating insight into Kruger's life and a time when South
We decided to visit the museum out of interest. Our tour guide was amazing and very knowledgeable on the life of Paul Kruger. Set on Kedar Lodge which in itself is stunning, is also worth a visit! We’re thrilled that you enjoyed your Paul Kruger experience – it’s always wonderful to receive such positive feedback! Please come and visit us again soon!

We liked Kgaswane so much that we actually went twice during our short stay in Rustenburg. Entrance fee was R40 pp + R20 for the car. On both occasions, there were very few other visitors. Consequently, it felt almost as though we had the place to ourselves.
We went for a short hike on both occasions, a really pleasant thing to do as long as it's not too hot. While taking the drive around the Sable Loop, we saw Zebras, various kinds of Buck, as well as a whole bunch of baboons. The road is asphalt throughout and in reasonable condition.
Be aware that no useful map of the hiking trails exists and the marking could be clearer in spots. Advice from staff can be variable.
Don't let that deter you though - Kgaswane really makes for a worthwhile (and inexpensive) day out.

My two kids, my wife and I spent two hours at Kudus Rus and had a very good time for many reasons:
-getting to see lions from so close
-getting plenty information with a personalized visit with Yolandi, a very qualified tour guide who explained so much about these beasts
-and the best of the best, the interaction with the cubs, 3 to 5 months old baby lions...what a fabulous experience!
Thank you to the Kudus Rus team for what will remain in our memories for ever.
