Rameswaram, (also spelt as Ramesvaram, Rameshwaram) is a town and a second grade municipality in the Ramanathapuram district in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. This temple is an architectural marvel and it is absolutely amazing to see interesting constructions around the place. Interesting parts like the 22 wells which have different waters and never ending water and the mani darshan are quite interesting. the reason for lower rating is the fact - a temple has to be free but here a person should have min 10 rs to visit god which i didnt appreciate. thus i felt its more a architectural marvel vs a divine abode which it should be.

This is the new bridge across the sea to enter rameshwaram.
Like any other bridge except for the view from it with the sea on both sides and the view of the pamban bridge. there are policemen posted there to stop you from parking on the bridge but if the traffic is not much they will let you stand and watch.
you will be lucky if you see a train pass by on the pamban bridge, otherwise watch it on you tube.

Great place for a day trip, the drive to the beach is excellent, with a thin stretch of land stretching out into the sea. It has a good Ram temple on the way too. The beach itself is decent for bathing, but do go early in the morning, as it can get very hot during the day. On clear days, you can even see some Islands off the coast of Sri Lanka.

Its really a great experience to visit our beloved former humble President's house, whom to everyone's surprise, didn't own any property, fridge, TV, car or AC, as he just owned a wristwatch, six shirts, four trousers, three suits and a pair of shoes, but
has left an indelible mark, on the hearts and minds of every Indians, for his unforgettable service.
Being the role model for all the students, each & every students must visit this knowledge park, to change their attitude.
And last but not least, no one can't forget the important motivating message, that is posted at the Door exit, which states that, everyone has to speak to themselves, the following five lines, without fail, everyday, I.e, :-
1) I am the Best
2) I can do it
3) I am a winner
4) Today is my day and finally
5) God is with me

The entire village of dhanushkodi was washed away in the tsunami and the church is the only building which has survived in parts. Its a surreal experience to walk through it.also look out for railway station and the water tank of which only memories survive.

One of the smaller temples in Rameshwaram. You get to see the floating stones. It actually floats---what ever be the size of the stone. If you donate Rs 1000/ against receipt, you will be presented with one such stone. Insist for it.

There is nothing special about the place except that it gives a good aerial view of the Rameshawaram town & sea.The temple located there is known for the footprints of Lord Rama.

This is the point from which the mythical Rama setu is said to have started. The place is truly breathtaking and scenic. The Rama setu is obviously underwater and cannot be seen from this point. Though satellite view shows that stones floating in the water connecting India, starting from this point, to Sri Lanka. It’s simply amazing how such things existed and yet are no more visible & have simply vanished. Even though the bridge is not visible to the human eye, it was worth the journey and travel to this point.

The place is famous for performing the homage to departed soul of the family. A lot of prayers are done here after taking sea bath. The first bath before going for main temple darshan is also done here. More neatness is required here. For religious values this is an important place....thanks
