A remarkable place filled to the brim with exotics. There are a huge variety of things on sale - from vegetable seeds to wonder fresh produce. An amazing array of seafood - both fresh and processed.
Clothes of all variety many many more things.
Well worth a visit.

The bus from Pohang took about an hour and was very cheap to use. We caught it opposite the shiway bus station near Home Plus. The temple itself is beautiful and peaceful. Really great to walk around. The hut signed "Information" had, as we had come to expect, only the one word of English - the one on the sign. We asked if there was an English brochure, but there wasn't. No matter. The walk up the mountainside path behind the temple up to the Waterfalls was a wonderful experience even in the heat and humidity. We did not see any fellow foreigners, but there were plenty of Koreans enjoying themselves. As with everywhere in Korea, we were made to feel very welcome.
The only downside - as the light started to go the mosquitos came out. Moral - get out a bit earlier and avoid teh little charmers!
Overall, a lovely experience.

More people should go to Pohang. And even more should make the bus or cab ride out to Homigot. The entire peninsula is fabulous, with its streets of seafood restaurants and cute parks. The Sunrise Plaza is the perfect place to start (at the beginning of the day), or end (at sundown).
We were there in late October with the cold wind whipping off the ocean and the waves crashing violently. It was fantastic. Many people took pictures of the large hand sculptures, which are cooler in real life, and many still enjoyed the street food- ah! Beondegi!
Get there in time to see the museums on the plaza and the lighthouse. A true gem!

This is a magical place. The main temple is just the start. Cross the bridge and go up the mountain behind the lake to see another gem up the creek. Then make sure you climb the mountain behind the temple to see the other temple up on teh mountain. There were some monks around which made it very awesome. I would go there everyday if I could. You can see all of Pohang if you continue to scramble up the mountain to the top.

For lighthouse lovers this will not dissapoint. Very good displays in a series of buildings and can walk up to this lovely lighthouse. It's also easy to access the beach and Promenade. All the displays had an English title and there is an English brochure which is obtained at the front gate information kiosk. The toilets are clean and there is a lift in the main display hall.

This was my favorite place to hike on the weekends. To go here and just walk to where ever I could, got me out of the city and into nature. The water is beautiful and Koreans are best in nature. At the trail head (used to be) noodle stands or "Pajong" eateries. Best ever.

We went here on our field tour, From the time we arrived at their visitors centre to the send off were very well prepared and exceptionally organized. We were given an introduction of the history and growth of the factory, it is unbelievable that they reached one of the top steel factory in the world. In fact the Pohang city was developed to an international level by these people (Hyundai also contributed in the later part).
The factory is very well established and more greenery can be seen. Our tour guide from the factory was exceptionally talented and courteous. It was a well informed and pleasant trip.

Stumbled across this location after seeing it from a taxi on the way to my hotel. First shock was that entrance was free! A very well done little ship display, with good access to most of the areas of the ship. The vessel itself is the PCC (Patrol Combat Corvette) 'Pohang', built in 1984 and retired in 2009. There is also an interesting display on the sinking of the Cheonan, which was a sister ship to the Pohang. Well worth a look if you have an hour or two free in Pohang.

Home stadium of Pohang Steelers what is a pro soccer team of South Korea.
A really nice somewhat new stadium that hold around 20,000 people. Every seat has a good and unobstructed view. Ticket prices for the soccer games are extremely reasonable and considered very low priced. Can be reached by a few local buses or by any taxi. Plenty of parking although people tend to park anywhere along the surrounding areas. It was funded by the local Pohang Steel Company or POSCO.
